"We loved our stay at Elsa's inn. The breakfast was amazing and we learned so much about the history of the area from the host. Location was unbeatable. We went to a nearby lookout to watch the sunrise and it was stunning and not crowded like the places right by Bar Harbor. This stay was one of the highlights of our trip around Maine!"

"The motel is old and not very well kept up. Rooms are small have not seen updates since the 60’s. The carpet smells and there is no insulation so it’s either very cold or hot. It is not close to town at all but there is a shuttle across the street that runs into town. However, the staff is so UNHELPFUL that had I not already known about the shuttle, they would not have offered any information. I paid for my room in advance but when I checked in, she handed me a paper that said I still owed....

"This is a lovely place to stay on MDI. The staff is friendly, everything was clean and comfortable. The restaurant being right next door was a bonus!!"

"The breakfast while mass-produced covered all of the possible breakfast foods and then some- so more than the usual continental breakfast. The shuttlebus stop into Bar Harbor and beyond also couldn't be more convenient. Their is also trail access at the back of the property for certain trails. A great place!"

"Super lovely stay! We ended up being late for check-in because of our flight being delayed. This was no problem at all, the manager sent us a message with a code to unlock our key for our room and details for breakfast the next day. The room was clean and cozy, loved waking up to the sound of nature and the beautiful nature outside, I want to go back now!"

"Pool closed for cleaning all day. Breakfast was a bit crazy you need to submit an order by 1900 the night before and the were out of many things like eggs and OJ. The rooms are small but cozy. Good location."

I took off one star due to two factors. The towel bar fell off the wall in the bathroom. When I alerted the staff, they quickly reattached it while we were out for the day. But it immediately fell off again. The two ends of the towel bar were too far apart, so simply reattaching the fallen end into the same...

"Clean, clean, clean!! Beautiful views and super friendly helpful staff. Grounds are beautifully maintained, large lawn areas for kids to play. Convenient shuttle serve to town center and park. Can't wait to stay again."

"The bathroom was very dirty when arriving. The facet was broken. The sink was plugged. The breakfast was very limited. Little to no protein other than hard boiled eggs and small yogurts. They had butter and cream cheese out but no bagels or bread to put it on both mornings we were there. For the price we paid this property was a huge disappointment."

"The location of this property was fantastic. The MOTEL was exactly a motel though. Small, run down room with thread bare sheets, small bathroom with a stained tub, dated decor. There was very little outdoor space. We really loved the visit to Acadia and Bar Harbor but this motel was a disappointment."

"The hotel is located right in Bar Harbor, just a very short walk to the town center. Since most hotels in Maine tend to be quite old, this property was a wonderful surprise—it’s relatively new, and the rooms are both spacious and clean. They also provide complimentary breakfast, which was actually quite good. Highly recommended!"
