The hotel and room was easily 5 star. The restaurant/breakfast area was outstanding with an amazing outdoor area. The brreakfast was one of the best I experienced with a selection not found in any other 5 star hotel. I would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful view from the room. We got the big bed which was 3M by 2M and could sleep my whole family of four. Pool was amazing with skyline in the background. Staff was super friendly. Room was very quiet and comfortable. Our family really enjoyed it and would love to stay there again!

Relaxed staycation with a view
We love this hotel for its eco friendly, modern approach to luxuary. It is in a fabulous spot to watch the river and enjoy the delicious food.

Great stay
Great stay, great hotel. But as all hotels in the winter in Asia, rooms too warm and aircon doesn’t fill them enough. Fantastic breakfast and extremely attentive staff.

Awesome stay, besides the entrance...
It’s been the second time in this hotel. And obviously I came back because I like it. However, it’s also the second I write that the “entrance situation” is a fail if design. Two tiny elevators to the lobby. And further, now four, elevators are just slow. Always a hassle to go quickly back to the room. Besides that everything (service, convinience, appearance, ...) is great.

The property was interesting and very modern, but depending on which side of the building you stayed in a "Bund View" is only seen by standing in the right place in the room and your view is the adjacent office building... Not very appealing at all... On top of this the room had a heavy mold smell and when I ask for another room they started to make excuses and didn't want to change at first... Once I convinced them to change the room we looked at another room it had the same mold smell, after the second room we finally found a good one... For the money it is not worth the value... Oh if you do stay the only real rooms with a view are on the right side of the building... the rooms on the left side look directly into the adjacent office buildings

Superb in every way
From the super efficient check in to the fabulous room with view of the river and the towers of Lujiazui to the delicious food, we loved our stay. We had a surprise delivery of a bottle of champagne with a personal note from one of the managers to celebrate our anniversary, and then the manager of the hotel delivered two full glasses of bubbly to our table at dinner! We felt very special and will definitely be back sometime soon.

Great hotel with lots of waiting
The hotel is a great place to hang out. Each and ever staff member I met was super polite. However, there was the day of check in. Only four check in counter for such a hotel must be a joke. I had to line up for 30 minutes. The designer must be a big fan of the number four, as there are only four elevators to get to the rooms, this brings a lot of waiting with many people with it. All in all, I remember a lots waiting over my entire stay. I have seen better in hotels in the 600 RMB range.

Best View of the Bund and great front desk.
The hotel is stunning and the staff is great. The W insider Luiz helped us get our phone setup which was a great help. The front desk staff (Jerry and was so helpful and answered our questions. Daisy managed to find the make and model of the toilet bowl in our room because we loved it so much. We can't wait to go back to Shagnhai and stay the W again. My wife loved the dumpling pillow and chop sticks. Wish we could take them home. Also, Bruce was so helpful arranging transports and providing us great restaurants and bars to visit.

This is a beautiful property, fun & chic. We were received by Chris at arrival and she was our personal hotel director. She made sure all our needs were met, she was friendly, charismatic and professional. We cannot thank her enough for all her attentions and care.

Incredible staff and hotel
From the moment we booked the room we were greeted with the most friendly staff. I messaged prior to our stay and Priscilla took care of all our needs before we arrived. Upon arrival Tiny checked us in with a smile and warmest welcome. We stayed for our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it special for us. I would highly recommend and will definitely go back for this stellar service and amenities.

Our recent Stay at the W was absolutely outstanding! From the welcome to the minute we left the team at the hotel could not do enough for us. We have stayed at a number of five star hotels in the world and can honestly say we found this to be the best. Amy the Customer Service Director and her team really know how to make your stay very very special indeed. This was our first time staying in Shanghai and I have to say that the hotel was amongst many things that made the trip the most memorable. We can’t thank the team at the W Hotel enough. 🙂

A great and unique experience!!!!
A great facility with an exceptional team of service professionals. Pascha, Rachel, Nana, Tina, Vivi, and everyone else I encountered made the stay that much more enjoyable. Great food and atmosphere at the kitchen table. The deep tissue massage at the spa was the best I’ve had in China, maybe anywhere. Greeting staff was consistently friendly, helpful and fun. The hotel staff was the type that consistently went out of it’s way to make sure the guests were having a seamless and memorable stay. If I could make any constructively-critical recommendations, they are small, but; the Greek yogurt with papaya on the breakfast menu at the Kitchen table should be renamed papaya with yogurt, as I was looking for Greek yogurt but when the dish arrived it was primarily an enormous papaya with proportionally little yogurt and honey on top; during my near perfect massage, some neanderthal was yelling down the hallway in Chinese for about 3 minutes and I could easily hear this in the massage room; the water sensors in the men’s room off of the lobby/bar area were a little tricky (inefficient) when it came to attempting to wash my hands - I noticed other guests experiencing this as well; the wet bar was unavailable for the first two days of my three day stay, but I understand that the space is available for rental - and the staff did surely make every other area of the hotel a supremely enjoyable experience. All in all, my next stay in SH will surely be at the W. Thank you!

Amazing location and room view
Amazing view from the room. Connected to a new mall, sufficiently equipped to provide meals for the few days stay. Extremely pleased with the breakfast service and room layout.

W Shanghai = WIN.
Great hotel with authentic and energetic staff. Top notch amenities and attention to detail in the room— from Bluetooth speaker to Nespresso machine. Breakfast buffet had a terrific amount of fresh and diverse choices. Close to simple to use Metro system. Amazing health center / spa too.
