Beautiful Villa with Situations

Wonderful classic feel of European Villa in the exotic Far East. The room was pleasant and airy. We found the room did not let in enough natural sunlight the bulbs being energy saving did not light up enough. They scheduled a private party at pool side with real bad EDM with Chinese singers which only hit the high notes off tune. Made for a uncomfortable sleeping. Breakfast was I strange mix of Chinese Cambodian and English foods, thank good there was Pho. Staff went out of their way for helpfulness and I say for a English speaking Tuk Tuk driver #18 Mr Long is the best we had. Request him by all means!

Large groups lots of noise/confusion. Dirty rooms

The hotel did not have the right reservation. Only 1 room out of 2 booked was available. They eventually found a second room, and tried to have both closer. The two rooms had just been completed/refurbished. There was a lot of construction debrief and dust. The floor were stained with cement, and there was still stink of construction works. There we are also a lot of dead flies and other insects laying around the room. We asked twice for the rooms to be cleaned thoroughly but it did not happen either. There was cricket hidden in the bathroom fan which made noise all night.

공항과 가까운곳에 위치하고 공항픽업서비스까지 있어서 좋았습니다. 객실에서 와이파이 잘터지구요. 객식 깨끗했습니다. 물은 다 마시면 채워주는식이라 전날 다 안마셨더니 안줘서 좀 불편하더군요. 조식은 .. 그릇이 깨끗하지 않습니다. 설거지가 덜 된 그릇 많이 봤습니다.

3 good things and 2 bad things about Sokhalay

Overall, it was a good choice for me to choose to stay in Sokhalay. My parents-in-law visited us and they stayed here for 3 nights. I think there are three good things in Sohkalay- room size, swimming pool, and air-conditioning. The room was almost twice bigger than any other superior room in other hotels. My parents wanted to spend time with my sons as much as possible in the room, and that's why I chose sohkalay. If you want a really large room, this is it! Plus, the AC was relly great. In April, it is the hottest month in Siemreap, and AC is not really good in many houses and hotels, but in Sokhalay, it worked great. Lastly, the swimming pool was also really big and beautiful. But there were 2 bad things we experienced. Most of all, a manager in the front desk was really tricky. He tried to cheat us by providing a different room which I didn't book and like. And his way of treating us was also really unpleasant. If you are sensitive with the staff's service, choose different ones. Staffs in front desk were not really kind and smiling. Another bad thing was the slippery floor in the room. It is wooden floor, but really really slippery. My two sons hit the head on the floor more than 5 times in a day. It was so dangerous and annoying.

Clean hotel suitable for our needs

Lovely staff, good location for us , nice and quiet, great rooms we stayed in the hotel and the rooms were much bigger than we expected.

Good facilities that aren't managed well

It breaks my heart to write this review. This hotel realy has it all: wonderful pool, spacious rooms, spa, kind personell. But the details ruin it. For example: Cleaning in the room was ok, but not thorough. A good example is the fact that the bathtub drain had loads of hair from some previous guest when we checked in- and was still there 6 days later. The room had a very smart control system over all electric switches, aircondition etc. But some of it did not work! Spa centre was there, but sooo overpriced that i never used it. Breakfast: The Asian dishes looked amazing, the western choices were poor though. The 5th floor is used for conventions, meetings etc. Thats fine by me. What i find unacceptable though, is that guests that stay on the 4th floor (like i did), have to listen to the every single tune played on the 5th floor. It felt like being on a Disco. Believe me, it is loud. If you want value for money, go for it. If you want 5 star quality, i would not recommend this. Which is a pity: this hotel has the potential, if managed properly.

Nice hotel with a few problems

In one of our rooms the air conditioning did not work and when we showered it flooded our bathroom. In our other room, one of the sinks was leaking.

On the hotel strip far from the action

Its an annoying 15 minute tuk tuk ride from anything in town. The complex is huge and the rooms are huge however this hotel just feels empty. Decent fitness center and breakfast

Nice place to stay

We were in the hotel part of this resort which also include many villa. ROom is very big and clean enought but lighting is a little bit dark. Bathroom good enought but there is some spotting in the bath that i think they should get rid off. Nice pool which is in the middle of the resort. The one inside is too dark I think. Overall nice place to stay .

除了離鬧區比較遠,去老市場跟啤酒街一定要坐嘟嘟車（司機都會開5美金,但可殺價至3美金）飯店非常棒,房間比一般4星級飯店要大上一倍,床也比較大,房間內還有一整組沙發椅. 早餐豐盛, 泳池很漂亮,真的值得

Optimal für chinesische Pauschaltouristen

Ein neu erbauter Bunker im üblen 70er Jahre Stil. Dürfte Ami Pensionären und wie meine Erfahrung zeigt vor allem auch chinesischen Pauschaltouristen gefallen. Das einzige, was ich im rel. spartanischen Frühstücksbuffet an europäischen Speisen zweifelsfrei erkannte war BROT. Der Rest: keine Ahnung. Fette Würstchen und irgendwelches dämpfendes Zeug. Ich bin 5* erfahren. Seit langem. Und weltweit. War mind. 20 Mal in Asien unterwegs. Aber dieses Hotel ist nichts für mich. Staff ist nett, versucht zu helfen wenn etwas nicht funktioniert (was oft der Fall ist). Ist aber hilflos, untrainiert, überfordert.

"Our stay at Sokhalay Angkor Executive and Spa was extremely pleasant and comfortable. Our welcome at arrival by the Guest Relations Manager and the Reception Manager along with a welcome drink made of honey and tamarind was an unprecedented event which we have never experienced before at any hotel worldwide as we are regular travellers. Due to their procedures, we did not have to go to the reception to complete the check in documentation. Room and the hotel were clean and comfortable and exceptionally big like a suite though we had not booked a suit and the fruit basket was very pleasant. Car hire for sight seeing was very reasonably priced too. Less than 10 minutes from the airport and not too far from Angkor Wat either. Breakfast was full of choices where every taste was catered for. The restaurant was out of this world. The surroundings and ambience were unique to this hotel due to the greenery and floating lotuses in the surrounding little lake. The only thing that we were not impressed with was their exchange rates and the use of a 3 month old exchange rates sheet. We however, decided to use our credit card instead of cash.
