The property was really pretty and the cabin was spacious. The carpet didn't look very clean though and the ac window unit in the bedroom was really loud all night. The porch on the front was nice but the one upstairs was too small. The beds were really small too and not very comfortable. It was nice but it seems a little too outdated and for something more rustic it would be ok.

It is a very rustic stay, which I really enjoyed, especially the tree that grows through the roof and the elevated bed upstairs. You should watch out for the final cost, because I booked here and am convinced the the price offered to begin changed significantly to my disadvantage after confirming the booking - my mistake, I should have been more observant. There was no shower soap available, the light in the refrigerator was out and the refrigerator itself didn’t really seem to work. Additionally, the windows could have used a cleaning. Finally, I had the cabin A directly at the entrance and it seemed that on Saturday every idiotically loud-tuned car or motorcycle raced by in the afternoon and early evening.

The property welcomes pets. The staff is very friendly. The lodge is about 10 minutes from Silver City. The Buckhorn Restaurant is nearby and quite good. The lodge rooms are dark and need attention but it sits in the woods and that makes it peaceful.

The complex is a series of narrow and winding dirt roads, with not a lot of room to park. It is a quiet location, and be prepared to be charged for any firewood you use out of the woodbox. Also beware that some cabins have a steep stairs up to a sleeping room, which has a set of narrow steps to the bed. Just remember not to jump out of the bed in the middle of the night and miss those stairs.

The place was very charming, a little bit out of the way but very sweet with deer hanging around the cabin just being deer. It was very cold when we went, but the cabin was cozy. My only complaint is that it could have used some cookies or crackers in the room or maybe a box of cereal or something. It was super cold in the morning when we departed and there was nothing to entice us to stay (like breakfast!!).

We love staying here at Bear Creek Cabins so much, this was our fourth stay as a couple. It’s a beautiful place and the cabins are unique and rustic. We say don’t miss out. Arrive before dark, because your first time, the property is best negotiated in daylight. Put wood orders for the chimneys in early each day, they can run out. Pick a cabin with a kitchenette if you want to cook, or not if you don’t. Just don’t miss out. And I’d really like to keep it a secret, but I truly want others to benefit from the relaxation this place brings!
