"Pros: The issue with the air conditioning was addressed fairly quickly, and the on-site handyman did an excellent job. The proximity to Newburyport was also a major plus. Cons: While the room appeared tidy, it wasn’t as clean as expected. "Our family was extremely disappointed with our stay. We picked this hotel specifically, due to the listing indicating that the hotel had a pool. This was extremely important for our stay considering my son is autistic and requires sensory relief. The listing is false advertisement. "I loved the room colors and bedding. The rug was very nice, but needed cleaning. I enjoyed swimming in the pool, but that needed cleaning as well. I would stay there again. I just hope they up their game on the cleaning. It is away from the hustle and bustle farther south which is what I wanted. There is plenty of parking and you can walk across the street to the beach. "This is a gorgeous historic property nearly 100 years old. With this in mind, my remarks are personal issues, not necessarily those of all travelers. I am extremely allergic to mold and mildew and just imagine a 100 year old building. While not visible, there is that “ old” smell that never leaves. This is particularly in the hallways and public spaces, NOT IN THE ROOMS. The property is beautiful, refreshing and restful. The back courtyard particularly was inviting. The room was clean....
