"Ian was great checking us in , our room was unfortunately hot , the walls are paper thin and the beds are sloped from people sitting on the sides of them . Once people stopped walking around in there rooms (yes you can hear them walking in the rooms next door so if their talking u can hear every detail ) . Breakfast was very nice and included . We would not stay there again due to the heat and the noise and uncomfortable beds ."

"Quirky place with very nice staff and it was exceptionally clean. Seemed expensive for the quality and layout of the room and no breakfast included but I guess that happens in a cruise town. Configuration of my room ( twin single) was awkward due to the small space. Bedside tables were out of reach and difficult to watch tv from one of the beds."

"This is an older hotel but very well maintained, with a historic look--e.g. pressed tin ceilings. The staff were very friendly and helpful."

"The main issue we had as there is no sign on the building! There is no way to identify you have arrived at the location. You have to get the room key from a store near the building ( we had to ask people in the street and eventually another store owner took us to the right store to get the key) very unprofessional and frustrating. "

"I stayed here the night before I caught the ferry and it was fantastically comfortable. The only issue that I had, and it was very minor, was finding the check-in instructions, but it was no trouble - another guest showed me the way. Well, there was a second issue. The driveway is very steep with some very sharp turns. I had everything I owned in the back of my pickup, so with the added weight, it was problematic for me to maneuver the driveway. If I'd known, I would have parked on the road and...

"We were really happy with Captain's Choice, especially after a long day of biking. Great views over the water from the shared patio/deck. Clean rooms. Carpeted hotel floors have grossed me out before but the ones here were clean and well taken care of. Parking in the back lot was a little tight but we found spots for both cars. If I need a room in Haines again this will be my first choice."
