Top Small Islands of Venice Hotel Reviews

Hotel Montecarlo
10/10 Excellent
"Front desk staff is phenomenal!! Answered all of our questions and was always gracious. We ate twice at the second restaurant two doors to the left when exiting hotel it was recommended from staff - the food was very good - hotel is centrally located to all shopping, dining and tours - one note * the hotel is not near train station, make arrangements to take water bus or taxi and get off at Rialto Bridge and it’s a 5 min walk "

B&B HOTEL Venezia Laguna
6/10 Okay
"We stayed at B&B HOTEL Venezia for our honeymoon in Venice.
Both before our arrival and at check-in, we specifically mentioned that we were celebrating our honeymoon. However, in March 2026, the outdoor area was under construction.
The welcome at the reception was careless and inattentive. Unfortunately, the room was not fully prepared—many essentials were either missing or incomplete. There were no hot beverages or even basic amenities like drinking water or glasses. The liquid soap was almost empty and ran out completely during our stay. Additionally, there was an exposed electrical cable next to the bathroom mirror, which was concerning. It was also surprising that there were not two full sets of towels.
In summary, although the hotel is new and has a good location, our experience was a complete disappointment. The only positive aspects were the restaurant and the staff working there."

Hotel Cavalletto e Doge Orseolo
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was perfect start to finish. From the check in experience to the included breakfast to the service everything was nothing short of a 7 star experience. Starting with the location - perfectly located to all close attractions, very easy to walk from Rialto bridge which has direct connectivity from the Airport/Train Station. We came from the airport and departed Venice from the train station - both commutes were very easy from this hotel.
Staff was top notch, very professional and accomodating. The rooms were very clean, well insulated, and had all the facilities that you need. Also has elevators. Bed is comfortable, although the double bed is two single beds joined together (but we didn't mind that).
If I am ever in Venice I will be back here!"

Palazzo Veneziano
10/10 Excellent
"Adequate and Safe."

Hilton Molino Stucky Venice
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay at Hilton Molino Stucky Venice. We would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are generous in size, and the hotel is simply stunning."

Albergo San Marco
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent, staff very welcoming"

Hotel Abbazia
10/10 Excellent
"This place is absolutely gorgeous from the moment you walk in.
Conveniently located by the train station, but just enough on a side street that it’s totally quiet.
20 minute-ish walk to the heart of Venice. Water buses within three minutes of the hotel front door. Location cannot be beat.
Super friendly staff that made a fantastic room accommodation for me since I had a split reservation. I very much appreciate that.
Make sure you book the breakfast because it’s well above average. And having the ability to eat the breakfast in there, lovely courtyard was a bonus.
Loads of restaurant options and a delicious gelato shop in the immediate area. And of course you’re walking to the heart of Venice is just restaurant after a restaurant after a restaurant after a restaurant.
A+ 10/10. "

Venice Maggior Consiglio
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice hotel within steps of the train station, shopping and dining. Room was quite spacious and very well appointed. Free breakfast was delicious. "

San Clemente Palace, Venice
6/10 Okay
"Although recently reopening after a refurbishment, the property did not seem especially modernised and the room and public spaces were much the same as our previous visit 10 years ago, albeit with a decade’s more use.
The restaurant was incredibly overpriced, although the food was good, but the team were clearly very new and so service was inconsistent and missed bread, amuse bouche etc for some tables; wine list was forgotten and then the wine itself was not poured for 30 minutes until we asked for it to be opened. Those members of the restaurant staff who knew what they were doing were good but half the room of tables were unserved for 20-30 minutes at a time, so more than one table of guests walked out.
There are some nice touches like the kids room, bikes and it is great to have some quiet outside space in Venice. The boat service is great fun, although the gaps in the timetable often coincided with our needs to travel back with young children, unfortunately so we spent a lot on water taxis as well.
As a summary, the lovely property is let down by inconsistent service still finding its feet after reopening and tired feeling rooms which did not seem to have been refurbished at all, together with a very overpriced restaurant, so not worth the premium price overall. "
