Just 45 minutes from Hobart, Dunalley is a small town by the sea with a canal and swing bridge separating it from the Tasman Peninsula. Affected but also in a way spared from annihilation which could have befallen them in the disastrous fires that roared through the area in January 2013, Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed sits above the town, overlooking Bangor Vineyard, Blackman Bay, Marion Bay and Norfolk Bay where some of Australia's best oysters are grown. Now it is a stop on the way to or from Port Arthur or a retreat after work on Friday nights when it is open in summer until 9.00pm. The shower is 3ft away from facet handle, shampoo and soap. You have to walk back and forth to adjust water temperature and get soap during shower. If you want to use bath tub, you need to bring your own shampoo and soap. The front desk staff is always busy and some of them are not knowledgeable ...
