"The Rambler was pretty much exactly what it says it is: a retro themed motel that is inexpensive and sufficient. We play hard on vacation, so we were only at our room to sleep. The location is convenient to Interstate 5 and just a few minutes south of San Diego. We had a couple of good local meals, but we brought out own breakfast food as The Rambler only offers a café that was more expensive than the stop at Costco. Parking near your room was a bit tight, but there was plenty of parking on the backside of the motel. The rooms are small, but a full size dresser was great. It was less than 20 minutes to any of the main activities (Other than the Safari Park). "
