"When we arrived the door to our room was broken -- it would not open -- so they gave us another room. That room had no hot water, so they gave us another room. The staff was excellent, and the hotel is lovely. The location is very good."

"My experience at this hotel was very disappointing. The environment around the hotel did not feel pleasant, with many homeless people around the area. I understand that homelessness is a serious issue, but as a paying hotel guest, I expected the surroundings and overall atmosphere of the hotel to feel more welcoming and secure. The service was also very poor. The following morning, my wife and I went for breakfast and there was nobody available to assist us for more than five minutes....

"An excellent location and the friendly, helpful staff make this a very nice place to stay. Also worth coming to for those looking for the English hotel experience. Grade 2 listed building, winding stairs, and lots of charm. Breakfast was included and was a nice start to the day. The bed was comfortable, and we had no issues with water pressure despite being on the top floor."

"What a lovely hotel. The couple that run this can't do enough for you. It's decor is lovely and has a very extensively stocked bar. The breakfast was top notch too. Top tip, if parking outside they supply a permit which will save you some money."

"Absolutely loved our apartment and our stay here! Loved all this! 5⭐️s Unfortunately, there was some heavy rain during our stay that caused a lot of leaks inside the main building and caused the outdoor cafe & kids area to close (unexpectedly, without warning)! Apparently this happens a lot when it rains heavily- we adjusted during our wonderful stay, so it didn’t impact us … but this does need to be addressed for anyone visiting with a young family - sorry! 5 ⭐️s from a 2 adult, no kids stay...

"The property, with parking on the driveway, is opposite the lovely Central Park and an easy walk down to the Hoe. We were made very welcome and enjoyed a good breakfast. The “Narnia” en-suite was ingenious. The beds were comfortable and the room, despite being on the front of the property, was quiet."
