Red Carpet Inn Airport and Cruise Port Hotel Fort Lauderdale
8/10 Good
"Overall, my stay at Red Carpet Inn went well. The room was clean, the location was convenient, and most of the staff were polite and helpful. The only issue I experienced was with one front desk employee who was a bit out of line and unprofessional during an interaction. Aside from that situation, everything else during my stay was smooth and comfortable."
"I chose this hotel since it was one with free shuttle to/from the airport and free breakfast. My problem was the shuttle schedule. My flight got in about 11:30 am. I went to the shuttle pick point and saw many busses/vans from other hotels, but not Avid. I tried calling the hotels and 2 times I got a busy signal such that I had to do an internet search just to ensure I was dialing the correct number. Then on the third attempt, I got someone who pointed out that the next shuttle would be 2:30 pm. That's a regular schedule.
So, from that experience, I think Expedia could include the shuttle schedule, or encourage members to verify it."
"I booked and fully prepaid for a Tower Ocean View room well in advance. What I actually got was a second-floor “Parking Lot View” room with a spectacular panorama of parked cars. Apparently, the hotel decided that the room I had already paid for would be better enjoyed by someone else.
Since I arrived late at night, I didn’t have the chance to argue at check-in. More importantly, nobody from the hotel bothered to explain what happened or even acknowledge the downgrade. The reservation was made through a third-party platform, and only later was I told that the hotel was sold out — which somehow justified giving away the room I had already prepaid for. Their “solution” was a complimentary snack package, presented as if I should be deeply grateful for the generosity.
What makes this even more ridiculous is that the snack package was never explained as compensation. I had simply asked if there was a market open in the hotel because, unbelievably, there wasn’t even a basic vending machine available. So the “welcome snack” was framed as hospitality, not as an apology for selling my room to someone else.
In summary: I paid for an ocean view and got upgraded to a parking lot view instead.
If you choose to stay here, I strongly recommend NOT paying in advance — because apparently your reservation is only theoretical until someone else comes along."
"This hotel is amazing!! The rooms are spacious and beautiful! The beds are comfy and the bathroom is huge...
The pool area was great and staff at pool was friendly and attentive. They have a rooftop lounge that is awesome.. we didn't get a chance to go to the sports bar but , they do have one on property...the location is prefect if you are cruising, or just on vacation..they have complimentary car drop that took us to the beach ..its must to stay here.. we will definitely be back...beautiful hotel, great location. If I could rate higher than 5 I would... no issues from check in to check out.."
