A “motel-6”-class hotel for $360/night. Very old property, small room, old unmatched furniture/decor. No front desk to speak of - you have to upload a photo of your ID to their website by taking a photo ahead of time and wait for them to send you a code to your room. Didn’t do it ahead of time? Do this from your car when you arrive and wait for email with further instructions. all the furniture and decor don’t match and look like they are out of a thrift store - we had a broken piano stool in our room with broken yellow(!) upholstery. Plugs are falling out from the outlets, toilet has very poor flow and half the time doesn’t flush, but staff provided a large plunger that is sitting right there so you can help yourself and unclog it every time you use it. For this price level we expected a lot more.

The TV remote didn’t work. Called and was told someone would swing by. No one came. There was no one on site. There was only 2 paper coffee cups, no replenishment for our entire stay. 2 adults, 2 night stay. Rooms were ok. Area was very good, convenient.

Dirty rooms , shower curtain has mold on unit 10. Unit. 19 sheets were dirty. Outside was dirty and nobody was in the office. Only a gentleman names manny calls you. I never stayed here and was not able to reach the manager they just told me he is on vacation . I’m awaiting my refund since I never stayed here and still no answer.

Affordable, easy to reach stay in Tahoe.

The Alder Inn is very well located in South Lake Tahoe. Nice setting, very close to the beach and about a 30-minute walk to the stores and restaurants in Heavenly Village. Property seems a bit dated and it is a bit weird that there is no staff on-site. This did not hinder my stay however. The rooms could use a bit of an update, to bring them a bit more into 2024. But it was comfortable, rooms are spacious and it's very easy to get too.

This site was really close to all the shops and restaurants and a very short walk to the beach. I really liked the no-contact check in, they text you when your room is ready and how to get in without having to actually go into the office, very convenient. The room was clean and cozy. I would come again!

Good clean room for two nights. Bed was decent but could use better pillows. My husband and I had room 11, it was upstairs and away from everyone. It was closest to the street so ambulance noise was amplified. If that bothers you, I would get a different room. The building is old, so it does need updating. The railing going downstairs is a bit wobbly. Also they need better doors. Restroom had no lock, and front door was flimsy with no top lock for more security. Motel is walking distance to lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and close to the water. It is also a short drive from the mountain and everything else.

We couldn’t stay here for the night due to the quality of our room and the property being dirty, neglected, and dilapidated. The only reason we booked this hotel (motel) was due to its good reviews and hot tub. However, when we arrived, our room was completely outdated and dirty. The trim was chipped and cracked, the walls were stained, and the bathroom stripping was covered in cigarette stains. When we used the sink, it backed up and chunks of unknown material came out. After the outdated gas furnace heater made a loud and weird noise, we make an executive decision to ditch. Additionally, the hot tub and pool were completely neglected. It looks like they’ve been out of service since the last big snow due to the large weeds growing everywhere. I was really looking forward to this place. The pictures and reviews make it look like a lovely, quaint spot close to the beach. We wary of many of the reviews… I’m sure some of them are fake.

Room was terrible. Room 11. Maybe others are better. No light when we entered had to stand on the bed to turn it on. No outlets near bed. The one on the west wall had a hand written taped sign saying "do not use". Furnace came on and banged loudly in the middle of the night. TV had a faded screen and would not turn off via remote. Had to unplug. Bed was ok. No front desk. Contactless entry but no email explaining. Had to call at 10p. Asked for additional coffee did not receive. Pool and hot tub were dirty and inoperable on Sept. 13th
