"What an excellent property we found! 12 of us stayed for mum's 65th birthday. Welcomed to the smell of mulled wine & mince pies. Nicely decorated for Christmas throughout. Fantastic, peaceful location. Clean and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. No need to take anything other than clothes, the property had everything needed. Owners were fantastic. Great communction beforehand. Would definitely return again."

Room fairly spacious, warm radiator, lots of hot water, safe place to park the car, pretty central as just off the M6, unlimited supply of coffee tea milk and sugar, easy to operate small TV adequate size for the room, bed very comfortable . The staff were very helpful and efficient. Negative points are few but relate to bathroom in particular. Needed a good clean in some areas and older fittings...

"We stayed in a double room for the purposes of visiting Alton Towers. The location was perfect being about 40 minutes away. The room was basic but clean and comfortable with a private shower and toilet. No tv but this was fine. Downstairs had a communal kitchen and seated area which was clean. I only used facilities to make a cup of tea. Joseph (manager) was welcoming, friendly and was always nearby to answer any questions. £20 refundable deposit was required for the room key. "A unique hotel with historic features in the lovely canal town of Stone. Hotel central to activities and sights in town. Has a great Indian restaurant on ground floor and other good restaurants close by. No elevator but staff helpful with luggage. I would stay here again. "

"Excellent communication from host & easy check in with key lock. Room was spacious & comfortable for our family of 4. The only negative was that we hadn’t realised that bathroom would be downstairs, which resulted in the kids being a bit anxious about going on their own, as it’s a shared house and they weren’t comfortable wandering around the house on their own with strangers. Not a problem for the adults, but the kids weren’t comfortable. "

"The staff and the breakfast were amazing however the rooms have no shampoo (body wash is not going to do it for me), no lotion, no tissues and no phone. No phone makes it extremely difficult for overseas visitors to contact reception. Even the charming lady on reception who confirmed that these amenities were not offered in the hotel states that they were a budget hotel ‘but maybe not - we are quite expensive’. "

"When i arrived i was sent the code to the key safe to get the keys. When I opened it there was no key in the safe. Having phoned the contact number and cutting a long story short a member of staff had gone off with the keys in his pocket. Also there was no shower gel in the shower. The kitchen is communal and the walls are not thick and I was awaken by the sound of cups being knocked together at approximately 6 am."

"It was extremely disappointing to discover that the photos on the website did not reflect the reality of the property. Upon arrival, the house looked nothing like what was advertised. I had booked a room for two people, but the space was far too small to comfortably accommodate us. On top of that, the entire house was unclean, which made the stay even more unpleasant. Overall, a very disappointing experience."

"Filty from the entrance to the kitchen and toilet. I coukd not have a shower or use the kitchen. The room is fine. The advert says private bathroom but it was shared. I had to go downstairs to the back of the kitchen to get to the toilet. Wont come back. "
