This is the best resort money can get you at Gulmarg or anywhere else. The resort is world class and the service is topnotch. The staffs are all very friendly and helpful. Overall a very nice experience.

Great Scenery

Had the best experience at the Khyber resort, the hotel itself is amazing definitely 5* and the staff were very efficient. Special thanks to the Manager Mr.Mata who made our stay even more comfortable. Khyber = heaven on earth! Highly recommend it.

Just Book it...

No second thought i would return and strongly recommend khyber hotel is the best in Gulmarg. Breakfast was okay. No buffet but they serve what u want maybe because of low occupancy. But i was yet happy i stayed in this hotel.

Service poor

We were given a room which was damp and had to go down 3 flights of stairs. No lift in the hotel. We were upgraded to a better room after complaining about the state of the room. Maintenance needs to improve. Service can improve attention to detail is desperately needed. The view is stunning but overall 3/4 star hotel.

Overrated property. Not worth for non-snowy months

Khyber is highly overated. Definitely not worth what we pay for it. My feedback is in the non-snowy season. We visited in sept. We had booked a premier room. Room is not upto the mark and does not live up to hype and per night pricing, many things in the room are too basic. The bathroom is luxurious and nicely done. Breakfast is excellent with umteen options. The dinner buffet food is not worth the pricing. The hospitality is basic. Have stayed in similar premium priced properties like wild flower hall shimla, taj rambagh palace, taj faluknama, oberoi vanya vilas where the rooms , hospitality and warmth of staff , food taste cannot be compared to khyber.

Just out of a fairytale!

Service : Extremely warm people with their ever so jovial faces make your experience so comfortable. Have been to numerous Taj hotels however the experience you get here in terms of service is far superior. Adeel from the reception to be mentioned in particular. Interiors and exteriors : The hotel has magnificent views especially from their balcony rooms, swimming pool, gym and the restaurant. Very well designed wooden interiors. Can improve : There should be a shuttle service from the hotel to down the slope. It is very difficult to get there and get to the hotel when it is heavily snowing. Also the pool was shut for a month however we were not informed about it in advance. The pool is one of their USP's and I think they should have intimated a few days in advance. I can go on and on about the place, my stay was flawless and definitely one of the best hotels in India. Great service, great location and overall its something I will remember for my lifetime.

Lives up to it's hype

Khyber is a renowned name in Kashmir and this resort truly lives up to that. The resort is fantastically managed and you can see the element of "Kashmiriyat" all over this place. Ranging from the decor, to the way you are received with a warm cup of kehwa, the place resonates kashmiri culture. This resort is not just a place to stay at, it's a complete experience. The location is perfect, the views are serene, the rooms are beautiful, and the amenities are more than what you would expect. The restaurants have a wide selection of dishes, all well prepared. The tea room has a fantastic vibe to it and is a good place to socialize and enjoy the relaxing santoor music playing in the background. Other than this, you can head over to the spa to enjoy a swim or some sauna time. You can also get a massage and other spa treatment on site. This of course, comes with an additional price. There is also a Snooker room which is open from 9am to 9pm. Rooms include a fridge, a coffee maker, a nice LCD tv, and a beautiful panoramic view of the forest. A visit to Khyber is an experience that everyone visiting (or living in) Kashmir needs to enjoy once in their lifetime.

Heaven on Earth, clubbed into a resort

We are seasoned luxury travellers having been to Europe, North America, Asia. The stay at Khyber would still rank among my top 3 stays at resorts of all time. Really memorable experiences include the Christmas surprise gifts, the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner with a memorable live performance by Mr Abid Ali. Rooms were extremely clean, well maintained, with nice view of the Apharwat and other peaks even from the basic category rooms. Very attentive staff in every restaurant. Special mention to the maître d’hôtel Salma, who attended to us at every meal. Try out their new Italian restaurant Brava. If I am back in Kashmir again, I am certain to book a few nights again at the Khyber.

Not worth the price paid!

Fantastic property with stunning views and large rooms. The experience was shredded apart with terrible service standards and their nonchalant staff. This property could be so much better if their hired some professional staff and actually paid attention to their guests. Food was also terrible for a 5-star luxury property. Totally not worth the price paid.
