Our room was filthy, I’ve stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years and always thought of it as being a nice clean place to stay. But this maybe my last time. The bathroom was dirty and there was dirt along the baseboards and doorway where you can tell it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. Very disappointed!

Remote don’t work the tv except turning on and off. No shampoo & conditioner provided. Pillows were rather flat. Room was clean. Disappointing there was no breakfast.

Room needs updating and a good cleaning. The bed was ok. The water dribbled out of the sink and the shower wasn’t much better. The location was great. It was right across from the beach. But definitely not worth the price.

The Regency Inn, located at 331 A1A Beach Blvd St. Augustine, FL, is currently undergoing renovations, which was an unexpected discovery upon arrival. Our room was notably muggy and humid, indicating a lack of preparation prior to our occupancy. The ceiling within the room exhibited peeling and discoloration. Furthermore, drinking water was not provided, necessitating guests to supply their own. Housekeeping services are offered on an every-other-day schedule. The provided amenities included a couple of soaps and shampoo, but conditioner was absent. Our stay proceeded with a heightened sense of vigilance. The day before our scheduled departure, a representative from the Regency Inn contacted us while we were at breakfast, demanding our immediate return to check out. The representative spoke over me and had not reviewed our reservation details before making the call. I informed her I would call back with my reservation information. Upon my return call, she acknowledged an error and offered a cold apology. However, the issues continued. Later that evening, we found ourselves locked out of our room. When attempting to call for assistance, the call was disconnected. At this point, my frustration was significant. As we approached the front desk, a staff member met us in the parking lot with new key cards for our room. There was no prior communication regarding a key change due to their error. If the intention was for us to depart earlier, they succeeded. I do not recommend it.

Like I do at any hotel—budget or otherwise—I checked the bed and mattress upon entering the room. When I lifted the mattress, I found a used needle wedged between the mattress and the bed platform. That alone is more than enough to show that the room was not cleaned properly or inspected with even basic care. On top of that, there was body hair scattered throughout the bathroom, making the entire space feel unsanitary and neglected. I understand this is an inexpensive place to stay, but price does not excuse a complete lack of cleanliness or attention to guest safety. This wasn’t just “a little dirty”—it was an all-around gross experience that shows serious oversight and apathy in housekeeping standards. I would not recommend staying.

Very clean & comfortable room with everything you need. There is a good size dorm fridge, microwave & honestly don’t remember if there was a coffee maker. The rooms have been pretty recently updated & for the money is fabulous. I really enjoy the location just across the street from the St John Pier on A1A.

Quiet, close yo beach and clean. Staff is wonderful & friendly Rooms are a little run down, and bathrooms have gaps between the wall and shower and paint peeling off walls. I would still sssy again for the price and location.
