"This hotel may have been a little dated but all other things were great. The staff was so helpful and friendly. All rooms had king beds even 2 king beds in our room. The mattresses and pillows were so comfy. The price was so reasonable. When we travel to the Columbus in the future we will stay here again."

"The room was nice and clean. Checking in was easy. My rating is low because there was an issue with my reservation and instead of adjusting my dates, I had to rebook. There was not a manager on duty so I didn't know if they were going to be kind and dismiss the misbooked room charge. Found out today, they are not. So I was charged for two separate one night stays and the hotel was not worth that much, which brings down my ratings across the board. I understand being a business, I do not...

"This hotel opened its restaurant at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, for breakfast for guests who were booked for a train excursion that boarded at 7 a.m. What excellent service. We talked to other people who had stayed at other local hotels and were told that some hotels did not alter their hours to accommodate this important event (the train ride to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States). Kudos to the Doubletree in Newark, Ohio."

"This place is FOUL! They woke us up at 8 am by installing support beams right outside our window!! That makes sense as to why the guy told me they don’t rent out the upstairs. Probably unsafe! It stinks so bad, Im so glad we had febreeze! I didn’t even want to touch the tv remote so I used a wet wipe. It’s gross!!! Hands down do NOT recommend!"
