"Beautiful property in a lovely quiet area. Everything you need in the clean and tidy room and a great base for exploring. Fans available during the warm weather, a lovely table and chairs with umbrella to sit out at on an evening. The breakfast for £9 was excellent nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Parking brilliant and was lovely to see Buddy the dog pottering around with his ball. Thank you for having us."
"Bathroom light turns off when you are in the shower ! My room - Room 10 subject to significant road noise!
Opportunity to obtain breakfast at provider away from property - increase options for those with dietary needs"
"We booked The Swan Motel as we were attending a function nearby in Beccles, and it turned out to be an excellent choice.
This is not 'luxury' accommodation, nor does it pretend to be, but for the price it offers something far more valuable: genuinely outstanding hospitality. The landlord and his team were absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived. Our event started at midday, and although we arrived just after 11am, they kindly allowed us to check in early, leave our luggage and get on our way.
Taxis in the area were almost impossible to find, and when we could not arrange one, the team very kindly helped us get to our event. Later that evening, we returned just after dining hours had finished, but as residents they checked with the kitchen and managed to arrange food for us. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
Every member of staff we met was friendly, helpful and accommodating. I have stayed in plenty of five-star hotels, but The Swan offers the kind of flexible, can-do attitude that is surprisingly rare in any establishment.
Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable, with thoughtful touches such as fresh milk in a small fridge. The food was delicious too — both dinner and the Full English breakfast were excellent.
Great value for money, lovely people, and a place we would highly recommend. We would definitely return."
"Great place, good food and very generous portions. Could use some better amenities in the room, coffee machine etc . Comfortable bed, great view.
Great bar with lots of choice. Epic food and comfortable rooms.
Food smells from kitchen hits the rooms which is a bit of a negative.
Nether the less positives outweigh the negatives and will stay again"
"We had a lovely weekend in the Shepherd's hut. Very cosy. It is in a very rural position but only a short drive from Beccles and Bungay- we loved the foodie shops in Bungay and the on-site farm shop.
It was great to pop out in the morning to grab still warm eggs from the chicken coop, and the goats and piglets kept us thoroughly amused. A really relaxing stay."
"We had the most wonderful stay at fritton lakes. The staff were lovely , the food was very high standard and our family room with our little boy just gorgeous!!
The out door swimming pool is brilliant we can’t wait to go back in the summer months, to enjoy all the outdoor activities.
The carpets in the rooms are a little tired but I think that maybe can’t be helped due to the farm style surroundings coming in doors off peoples footwear, but everything else was 5* ! "
