"Lovely old hotel close to the seafront. The reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The lift is out of order so it was a bit of a chore getting everything up to the room, but the room itself was clean, warm and spacious. There was a separate bath and shower which was great. You choose your breakfast in advance and say roughly when you'll be there. The lady looking after us was super and all our food was perfect. Such a delicious cooked breakfast along with toast and cereal. The restaurant was spotless too. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. One downside was the nightclub across the road, it was very noisy way into the night, but that's not the hotels fault. Also I must say some of the other guests had no respect for anyone else in the hotel and made lots of noise late at night, we always try to be quiet and considerate but it's a shame not everyone thinks that way, but again not the hotels fault. "

"We started off having a drink in the sports bar..booked into our room which was small but very clean..booked a table for evening meal.the food was absolutely lovely.the staff was so friendly and easy to talk to..breakfast was really nice .. a very nice stay comfy bed ..will be booking back up "

"We travelled to Whitley Bay from York to attend a family funeral and booked this hotel for an overnight stay. We were looking for a small family run hotel with personal service and that is what we got. A lovely spacious newly refurbished bedroom with on suite, and all that we would wish for although not needed, even a microwave! The management could not have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Cooked English breakfast was superb. Highly recommended."

"Staff were helpful and polite. The room was clean, with an excellent view. But the bed was not very comfortable, and the heating was not brilliant. The fixtures and fittings were worn and dated. Breakfast was ok, but could do with a decent coffee machine as you would find in similar setups. So in short, a potentially lovely place that just needs investment to upgrade it."
