"A wonderful place to stay, though only an OK place to eat if nothing else close by. The building is full of character in a good way, the setting is lovely, and the rooms renovated carefully to a high standard. The public areas are also lovely, and the staff welcoming and helpful. All in all it would look like a nice up-market hotel. However, I don't think that's maybe their target market right now. I think they may be needing to go after the corporate market at the moment - maybe everything has got so expensive they're aren't enough people on holidays or weekends away. For that kind of place, the rooms and public areas are amazing, and the food is more or less what you'd expect from a corporate-customer hotel. Specifically, our dining room food was fine, as you might get in a competent budget kind of restaurant, but other diners were not as happy. It didn't quite get to a Fawlty Towers level, but the customer's complaints were made in a courteous but firm way, while the staff got a bit defensive. I don't think the customer was ever made happy, and I'm not sure the staff ever got to the point of apologizing (even if they couldn't really control the quality of the food, which in this case was a steak). The food was also very slow to come. For breakfast it's certainly a level above the Holiday Inn Express cold buffet, with a choice of one hot item cooked to order and the rest with what was out, and it was fine too. If it was a budget hotel you'd even maybe say good."

"We had a lovely stay at Foinaven. Hosts are friendly and gave us fab recommendations for our night in Ullapool. Room is cosy and warm, breakfast was delivered to our room in the morning which was a lovely start to our day!"

"We enjoyed the spacious room facilities. Enjoyable breakfast and engaging staff. Did not utilise the restaurant on this occasion but have previously had the wonderful fish and chips dish. Thankfully beautiful sunshine which added to the golfing and beach walking."

"The communal areas were decorated in keeping with a classic highland theme which was good. The room although clean and comfortable would benefit from modernisation. Breakfast was decent with a mix of fried and continental options. The car park was full when I arrived which was late evening to be fair and there was plenty of street parking around."

"This is a great guest house. We had a lovely view overlooking some of the harbour. Walking distance into town which is great. AJ met us with a beautiful smile and laughter in her talking. How could you not respond in smile! The bed was extremely comfortable. Has a refrigerator yay!!! Coffee pod machine Yay! Television could be updated, sound quality was poor. The pre check in instructions could be reworked we found them confusing and a little abrupt. This made us feel that the hospitality would be unsettling. It wasn't of course when AJ greeted us with warmth. All the very best AJ and Luke with your young family."
