Caledonian Hotel (Ullapool, Scotland, IV26 2UG)
Stayed for 2 nights at £80 per night (breakfast not included).
We arrived late and were quite tired after traveling, but unfortunately found it difficult to sleep due to significant noise from outside — including traffic, trucks, and the nearby ferry. The hotel’s location directly on the main road and close to the harbour makes it quite noisy at night. Rating: 1/10
On a positive note, the room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a modern stand shower. Rating: 10/10
We didn’t use many of the hotel’s services, so I can’t comment on those. However, we did decide to have dinner in the hotel restaurant on the second evening, and sadly, that was another disappointment — both the food and the service fell well below expectations. Rating: 1/10
Overall: I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. A hotel should provide a sense of comfort and relaxation from the moment you arrive, and unfortunately, this one did not. If I could have canceled the second night without losing money, I would have checked out after the first.
