I chose this hotel for my honeymoon stay after I saw a stunning video of the location on YouTube. I walked in with very high expectations and they delivered well over and beyond. Everything - from the warmest hospitality to superb rooms, amenities and special arrangements was perfect. We had the Riverside Pool Villa and it was stunning! We tried out their Spa and felt super refreshed after. I even secretly worked with the hotel and staff to set up a candlelight dinner as a surprise for my wife and they executed it beautifully while very skillfully keeping all communication about it on a hush so my wifey wouldn't be spoiled about it before the surprise. Some special mentions of staff members who made our stay ever so special - Meisha, Mirah, Komang Ayu, and Sugik from the front desk who were always so amiable and always took care of our requests. Sang Ayu, Rahma, Martin and Dewi from the restaurant for their spectacular service as well as so beautifully setting up our candlelight dinners. And Deemus who assisted us at checkin and showed us our villa and the amenities that came with it. Thank you for your efforts. We appreciate it all. 100/10 recommend this place. I will be back here someday to relive the memories of my honeymoon experience.

The property was far off to the main tourist strip. More so in the badk streets of Ubud. The room was not clean. Both towels i attempted to pickup had makeup stains and dirt from previous people. The toilet had a dirty ring around it. The bed sash also had stains on it. The seat in front of the bed had a dead bug. We immediately checked out after 10 minutes. Did not unpack at all. Definitely not a 5 star resort - more of a 2 star. Very old and outdated. Nothing is modern. Would not come back or recommend.

Brilliant stay!

Throughly enjoyed our experience at The Sanctoo Villas! The villas were amazing, very well cleaned and kept and out of the world! We loved having free admission to the zoo which was also a massive plus of the stay at the zoo. The only negative was a late check in as we arrived on time at 2pm for check in time which it was said to be, and were not checked into the room at 3:30pm and didn’t have our bags delivered until 4pm, however I completely understand if there was issues with previous guest and late check outs. The staff were professional and great at resolving the issue as well as giving a sincere apology! Also very thankful for the man who was on the reception desk at night for helping us with a taxi to our next destination as 3 of our taxi’s we booked cancelled.

Overall; high end experience with a high end price tag. You can play with elephants and eat with orangutans. Their American style meals were mediocre, the breakfast was good, the Asian dishes were better. It is located near Ubud, which is driving distance to other tourist spots (Goa Gajah, Monkey Forest, Mount Batur, and etc.). I ordered steak and it reminded of a steak I would get at a major diner out here in the US (think Dennys or Waffle House). The Nasi Goreng (Asian fried rice) for breakfast was good. Other villas delivered the breakfast to your room, this villa required you to walk to the restaurant or you can request their golf cart to taxi you to the restaurant free of charge. The customer service was good and the employees were kind. The price tags were similar to how they would be at an american hotel, but being in Bali. The room was nice with HD tv’s, full sized tub, king sized bed, gazebo next to a pool. Remember, the villa is owned and operated by the zoo, so keep in mind there will be a lot of children around. The kids were yelling and running around next door which became somewhat of an issue as it got later into the night and I wanted to sleep. You get unlimited entrance to the zoo which comes with your villa stay. The zoo was a great experience and you can get up close and personal with plenty of exotic animals. You can pay to feed a bengal tiger or have your breakfast with an orangutan.

L'accueil est chaleureux et l'accès à la villa rapide. La villa est splendide, spacieuse, sobre et offre une très belle vue sur la rivière (un peu bruyante selon ma femme). Le petit déjeuner est bon et le service impeccable. Le diner avec les éléphants est plutôt sympa mais ne vous attendez pas à qlq chose de "nature" c'était plus un spectacle qu'un moment privilégier. La pluie ne nous a pas permis de faire le bain avec les éléphants Un grand merci à toutes l'équipe et Yowin qui a fait le guide pendant une journée (volcan, temple, rizière...) ce fut une journée magnifique.

Stunning villas

The villas are beautiful, clean, spacious and have lovely pools. We had dinner with the elephants one night, great value, delicious buffet and amazing interaction with elephants, orang-utans and other animals. Two dance shows included that were great. The only let down was breakfast.One morning was breakfast in the restaurant. The choices meant you could have fruit, but then no juice, muesli but no toast. Next morning we ordered in the villa. We were shocked that it cost IDR 150.000 for delivery to the villa, and it was stone cold, one strip of fat to pass as bacon, decent coffee was extra too. Also we booked delivery for 9.30 to sleep in. Yet got a call at 8 am to confirm our order! At the price of these villas breakfast needs to be great, no extra cost for delivery and quality ingredients. Otherwise loved the villas and we will be back.

The best hotel in Ubud, maybe the best in Bali

This is without doubt one the best hotels I have stayed in. Very personal, very thoughtful and amazing service and quality. The grounds are stunning, the rooms are huge, the free entry to the zoo is also great. I would recommend this as the best hotel in Ubud easily maybe the best in Bali!

Super Villen zum Zweisamkeit genießen!

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Mitarbeiter unglaublich freundlich und darauf aus, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Schöne Villen mit riesigem Bad und tollem Pool! Freier Eintritt in den Zoo, der direkt an die Unterkunft angrenzt. Essen im Restaurant teurer, aber lecker. Es hätte allerdings mehr vegetarische Auswahl geben können. Auf Nachfrage gab es dann aber auch vegetarische Speisen. Im Spa gibt es fast jeden Tag ein besonderes Promo-Angebot. Die Massagen waren auch sehr gut.

Luxury retreat

Amazing villas! The staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for you and you are also staying right in the grounds of the zoo which is amazing. The zoo itself is lovely, quite small but a really enjoyable morning or afternoon out. The villa and private pool are beautiful with a huge bathroom. The only downside is the restaurant which although is good quality lacks a little in menu choice.

5-star luxury at its best, spectacular stay

I've stayed in many hotels around the world and this is by far the nicest place i've ever stayed. It's quiet, serene, the staff is incredibly attentive and the food is incredible. Having your own private pool is incredible. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

A must stay if you like the zoo, rainforest + ubud

Brilliant hotel very private not overpriced or over developed. Unbelievable setting, amazing villas and amazing location with free buggy rides and free entry to the zoo. One of the best stays I have ever had

Un havre de paix et de luxe

Superbe hôtel avec des villas belles et confortables. Une piscine dont les enfants ont profité à fond du matin au soir, les températures aidants. Le zoo adjacent est accessible à volonté et il est jolie, avec une interaction directe avec beaucoup d'animaux (on peut même nourrir les tigres). Le service est au top. Il est juste dommage qu'il n'existe pas de villa avec deux chambres, ce qui aurait été plus confortable pour une famille comme la notre. Et, selon moi, les villas sans vue sur jardin permettent d'être mieux isolé, car concernant celles avec vue sur le jardin : quand vous voyez ... On vous voit !
