"We spent a long airport layover at this hotel, so that we could relax and rest. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable, although we did find the shower floor to be quite slippery when wet. The meal we had in the restaurant was good and everything was very fresh. Our only disappointment was that the massage treatments I had scheduled via a chat on the hotel website, during which I was assured our appointment was confirmed, were not in fact scheduled and no one was even available in the spa area. We would definitely stay here again, especially in the case of an early flight, since the proximity to the airport is very good."

"The staff at the front desk and restaurant as well as the porters were all very friendly and helpful. We found our room to be spacious, clean, and comfortable. The swimming pool was wonderful and offered a truly beautiful view of the city. If we find ourselves back in Makassar, we would stay here again. The food from the restaurant was just so-so, but it is available 24 hours, which is convenient if you need it. The only negative was the hotel shuttle driver who met us at the airport, as he wasn't very friendly, never introduced himself, had two boys at the airport help with the bags and then signaled that we needed to pay them, and only smiled when we tipped him, which we felt we had to do rather than wanted to do. As a woman, had I been alone in the car with him, I would not have felt comfortable. "

"THIS was an especially fun hotel because we were able to walk ALMOST all the way around it after a HUGE dinner which was a RAMADAN special of all you can eat! for TEN bucks! all the local foods so you could taste them and know what you were ordering next time at a redstaurant. food dishes were names in the buffet! they also had some 4 wheelers you could ride in the ajacent lot and also some cool electric go karts for $3.00 for 15 minutes and they were really FAST! crazy for electric scooters, and the guys were so nice that tended the go carts and let us take a spin around for free to make sure we would fit on them, and we were amazed that the go carts were adjustable because we are fat americans. gotta go to the buffet now!"

"The Hotel is amazing. The rooms are great and you have a nice rooftop bar. Also the pool was nice and the location is perfect in the middle of the city of Makassar. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful. From the hotel you can easily take a boat trip to Samalona Island. It takes only 25 min. I would definitely recommend Swiss-bel Hotel when you are going to visit Makassar."

"Conveniently located next to the hospital, which is why I chose this place needing unexpected care last minute. This hotel needs a face lift and feels very tired. Very dissapointed to not have hot water in the room, expecially being sick and having gone without a hot shower for 3 months now. Breakfast was very simple and bland, i would reccomend skipping it and going out. Overall, unless you need to go to the hospital I would not reccommend this hotel."

" We stayed at Novotel for 2 weeks. We wanted to relax and recoup after a tiring birding and wildlife trip. It was a wonderful stay and we were glad we chose to stay here.They gave us a quiet room and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The kitchen staff, big shout out to Anita and team customized our meals since I was vegetarian with so many diet restrictions. Am really appreciative of this gesture. Siti, Emma, and her team at the front office are amazing & super helpful. I don't know the names to thank them personally, so here's a big Thankyou to all the smiling faces and helpful folks who made our stay very comfortable."
