"My room and bathroom were spacious, well-appointed, and very clean. I could hear the people in the room above me. But I found my stay mostly quiet, and calm. Very nice. All the staff, but one, were very friendly. The hotel is conveniently located to restaurants, and shopping. It's near the beach, but you, probably, wouldn't walk it. "I’ve stayed at Ocean Gate Inn several times when visiting my son at UCSC, and the staff has always been kind and professional. One thing I really appreciate is how they go above and beyond — I’ve arrived as late as 1 a.m., and they’ve called to make sure I was still coming, which shows great customer service.
