A multitude of mysterious stories surround the Forte di Exilles. The most well-known account took place between 1681 and 1687 when The Man in the Iron Mask was held prisoner here. The exterior of the fort is imposing, but there is not a lot to see inside. Take a walk around the fort and enjoy the views. Entrance is free. #History
