"The hotel was in very poor condition and appeared significantly run down. After checking in late, we were initially given a room that was unacceptable, and when we requested a change, the second room was only marginally better. The sleeper sofa had an extremely uncomfortable mattress and was missing basic bedding—no sheets, pillows, or blankets were provided. I was told at the front desk that they were out of pillows, but eventually found some, but did not have pillow covers.
The rooms and hotel had multiple maintenance issues, including missing flooring, damaged drywall, dirty carpets, worn furniture, and stained curtains. In addition, there was noticeable foot traffic in and out of the hotel at all hours of the night.
Because of our late arrival, we didn’t have time to find another hotel that first night, so we stayed out of necessity. Unfortunately, we had a very poor night’s sleep and felt so uncomfortable with the cleanliness that we chose not to even use the shower, opting instead to leave as quickly as possible the next morning.
I spoke with the manager and was able to cancel the remaining nights of our stay, but he seemed unfazed by the concerns I raised. There was no apology or attempt to address the issues, which gave the impression that these conditions may be common.
Fortunately, we were able to find another hotel for the remainder of our trip, and the difference was night and day."
