"So, the good stuff first. Price is fantastic value. Location is ideal, just off the M74. Room was warm, quiet and clean. Bed was great. Now the real let-down. The smell of dope on the first floor would have knocked you out, despite the ‘No Smoking’ signs on all the doors. I reported it to reception. It was clear to me which was the offending room and I invited the staff to take a stroll past. Not sure if they did or not but the smell was still there the next morning when I left. You wouldn’t...

"Great check in from courteous staff we arrived early than check in time as we were attending a nearby wedding staff were helpful leaving our cases in the room and giving us a place to change . We got back just after midnight and found the room clean with a comfy bed a good night's sleep later and the breakfast was great one of the best. Well done to all and it was a pleasure to stay there "

Expensive for highly processed portions eg frozen dipper style chips with a meal of fish and chips and my partner had the fish pie that looked and tasted like a budget frozen meal available from a supermarket. However reception and serving staff were very friendly and efficient. Bathroom needs up grading. Old style mira shower over a bath and no handrail for additional support The setting was superb. Sad that the hotel doesn’t live up to present day...
