Staff were very helpful. The room was warm and comfortable. Cleanliness was to a good standard and had all we needed fir our one night stay. We would certainly stay there again and have no problem in recommending it.

A great pub. Really lovely staff. Very quiet. Our onlly complaint would be that the toilet cistern was running all the time in our room. This had been mentioned in the guests feedback book but was still not sorted. What a waste of water.

Lovely location

Lovely setting and would stay again, the room was a little tired but not too bad, fir time I have been refused a second poached egg at breakfast, so a little dissapointing. Bed was comfy and location was quiret, but in easy reach of Basingstoke and Newbury.

Clean comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities. En-suite bathroom with shower over the bath. The restaurant offered a good selection of traditional food. Breakfast offered a mix of cereals and yoghurt with toast and traditional cooked fare

Lovely old Inn.

A lovely old inn. Good location for onward travel. My only disappointment was no food on a Sunday after 5.30pm, unfortunately I arrived att 6pm. Being a hotel, I would have tought it was good sense to cook for the residents. 3 coupls came in and asked for food after I arrived, so there is obviously demand.

Good location for where I was and going. Staff were accommodating as I arrived 1 hour earlier than expected. Only thing I did not like was that on a Monday and Tuesday there is no kitchen and had to go and look for evening food which I did not want when I had been on the road since 6am that day

Could have been better. Lovely staff though.

I booked 1 room through booking (dot Com) cheaper. Room was fantastic. The room through ‘hotels’ was not brilliant condition and some uncomfortable looking headboard stains. For the price I would have expected better. Hard to get too with road closures, basic amenities but lovely food in pub. Bfast was awesome but very very slow and came out at different times.

Staff were very friendly. On arrival we were shown to our room which was clean warm and comfortable. Stayed two nights as was due to visit Highclere Castle the following day. They also serve food which was ideal. This is a lovely rural pub with lots of character log fire oak beams etc would definitely recommend.

The Christmas feast was amazing, the room and pub was olde worlde cute and very comfortable, the staff were all lovely. Trivia was heaps of fun. Thanks Sharon, Kev and the rest of the amazing staff. See you all next year xx
