5. Tahiti Airport Motel

Faaa

"Staff was very nice and helpful. Everything was very clean and well maintained. You have to get the hair dryer from the front desk. But there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable; pillows not so much. Room was quiet. Breakfast was ok. No cream or non-dairy creamer, or artificial sweeteners available for coffee. Be aware that the car ride from the airport is $2000 francs, even though the hotel is across the street. But, we didn't see an easy, or safe way to walk there....

"The resort was nice, but the service was just average. Very little eye contact, Front Desk staff spent most of the time on the phone without acknowledging people waiting in front of them. Housekeeping staff was very pleasant! Even what looked like Senior Management walked by without acknowledging anyone. I realize it's an independent hotel now, not a Sofitel, but service could use some attention!"

13. Pension Terehaunui Teahupoo

Taiarapu-Ouest

"The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well. The pension is quite nice, super...

19. Vanira Lodge

Taiarapu-Ouest

"I stayed in the Kava bungalow which I thought was excellent. That said, the stairs to the loft where the main bed is are small and steep so something to keep in mind if you need to try to make it down to use the bathroom and back up in the dead of night. The grounds and the view are straight out of your favourite travel influencer’s TikTok, so that’s a highlight, for sure. And the food at the restaurant was great. The whole place is up a steep hill so it’s not really walking friendly but if you...

20. TEA TAHITI Holidays

Papeete

"Tea Tahiti is within walking distance to the market, bus station and centre of town. Thankfully the taxi driver knew the property as it is located on a small side street off a main road and the property has no sign (that I could see) to indicate it is Tea Tahiti. There was some initial confusion about my booking but was pleased to be able to drop off my bag in the morning before reception closed for lunch. The room was clean but had not been renovated any time recently. It was OK for a one...
