We had a nice room with a large bed, a sofa and a balcony. Every staff member we came across greeted us and asked if they could be of any assistance. The facilities such as swimming pool and gym looked really nice, but we did not use them on this occasion. Would definitely stay here again.

I was delighted to see this property reopen again and booked what was a deluxe bedroom. It was clear that the hotel had just reopened with new carpets throughout. Bedroom was right above the kitchen where you knew before you got to the restaurant what was on the menu. Not sure the filters had been done! The two televisions in the room, one worked but I had to install the channels the other didn’t even have an Ariel connected. No hot water at night and when I spoke to the lady on reception she apologised said nothing she could do as hotel was full and no maintenance person was on site! Let’s hope they can get all this sorted! A better menu for half board would Be good too! Burger is not what you expect.

Was a quick stay visiting brothers grave with mum, the room size was amazing, plenty of space very large bed, lounge area Could have done with having bottle water in room although girl on bar gave my mum a jug of water to take up for her pills. Bathroom was a bit to warm and shower not the best but overall a nice stay. Dinner was amazing but breakfast could have been a bit better

Should have been better
Rather a mess at check in. Originally they couldn’t find our booking. The room type we’d paid for was not available so they checked us in to a cheaper room. They then rang the room after about 30 mins to say they’d found our booking and we could move into our original room. It eventually was sorted, but not the best of starts to our stay. Reception also forgot to give us breakfast opening hours (there was no information in the room) so we only just made breakfast with 5 mins to spare.

Rooms very shabby. Coving coming away from ceiling, flaky paintwork, carpet in hall ways stained TV in room not working correctly had to speak with stafff several times before sorted. Draughty through windows Breakfast-sausages hard in day one and not cooked well on day two, lack of condiments Juice not fresh Now what I would expect for the price Hotel did reduce our charge in complaining

Exactly as described.
Lovely Hotel - exactly as it is portrayed in the pictures. Pool and Spa area was spotless (and very warm!). Spa reception guy was very friendly and facilities easy to access. Meals were really high quality. Room was very comfortable. All staff friendly without being over the top. Enjoyed our stay and would gladly return if staying in the area again.

Overall stay was enjoyable. There was an issue with the sauna and steam room during our stay but they were working on it so just bad luck for us. The room was fine (135)but the shower was hopeless. The spray was too fine and not adjustable and lack of hot water. Staff were very good and room was clean. Would use again.

Excellent Spa Hotel
Weekend getaway for my girlfriend's birthday, nice quiet area, perfect for relaxation. The spa services are great, hotel guests get full access to the pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna, as well as being able to use the gym. Extra treatments such as massages are also available for an additional cost, we both had a massage and it was excellent. Our hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable and there were no worries about parking which was free and on-site.

This hotel could be much better, general areas were clean and staff friendly enough but the whole place seemed dated and dull without much care or attention. Small details could have made a big difference, such as a proper coffee machine to warrant the £15pp breakfast cost, some atmosphere in the hotel bar, replacement of very lumpy pillows, providing facecloths and hairdryers in rooms and improving signage to avoid guests trekking around the hotel, only to find the internal spa entrance locked. It was very disappointing to find that the spa didn’t open until 8.30am as many people prefer to swim earlier. For such a large hotel, it just seemed that no effort was made to make a welcoming environment and after such a poor impression on the first day, we decided to cancel our evening restaurant reservations and dine out to avoid more disappointment. Just a real shame, even the staff seemed bored in such a drab soulless place.

Great stay! The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were all fab! Me and my partner both had massages and they were ok - could have been better most of it felt like just a light rub really. But the therapist was lovely. Spa receptionists were great especially Luke who went above and beyond for us!! The hotel was clean and cosy! Breakfast needs to be improved - they don’t have a hot drinks machine!! Only a very small range of croissants and stuff. Then theres a full breakfast..which was good. Overall a great stay - would defo come back!!

The bedrooms were large and comfortable, lots of space and everything you need, quiet. The spa was nice, with a pool and sauna although the steam room was closed for maintenance. We were advised that spa treatments get booked up 6 weeks in advance. The restaurant was sub par for being quite expensive, would recommend eating elsewhere.

Overall our stay was excellent. The Regency Suite was far bigger than expected. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent with large white fluffy towels. The breakfast was good with the food being topped up at regular intervals. Good location and very quiet. Let down by minor maintainemce issues which we reported (no handle on one window and catches missing of all windows, previous guest rubbish left under sofa) We will definitely stay again when in the area

No WiFi in the room, not great for a trip with a teenager. Took a while to sort it, ended up moving rooms, to a double, instead of twin (see above!!). No help with directions or moving location. Room service is available but only the main restaurant menu, delivered with a £5 tray charge. Food was good. Breakfast very scant and sketchy. Not impressed, really not representative of a 4 star hotel. The guy on reception was very efficient though.

A very unfriendly and rushed check in. Room seemed tidy on the service however when I stripped the duvet on our check out I found stains on the duvet. Breakfast was fine however small selection and untidy where standards were not being maintained during breakfast service. Personally I would not return as really disappointed with our stay. This is a shame as the reason we chose regency hotel was because I visited a few years ago and had a wonderful time.

Good hotel. A little tired in places. Some areas there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. First impressions weren’t great, the man on reception seemed very uninterested and slightly grumpy. We were on a high and quite excited as it was a family wedding, it’s a shame this feeling was replicated by our first welcome. Other staff seemed friendly. Bathroom water pressure good. Bathroom products quite old and tired. Air con in room was great.

For the price it was great value for money. Breakfast was all you could ask for, the swimming and gym facilities were perfect and the location was great for the racecourse. We would certainly stay again

Booked 2 nights to attend a wedding nearby. Room was huge with a smartly decorated bathroom. Had dinner on the 1st night in the hotel restaurant. My husband is coeliac, and had plenty of choice. At breakfast he was offered hot and cold options. The hotel is well located and easy to find. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if visiting the area.
