"I did arrive at 9.15pm but had messaged ahead to say I would be late. No staff were on site the number I called brought a very helpful young chap from his home to let me in. The bar was closed so no refreshments. When I awoke next morning the hotel was pretty much locked no staff on site and no breakfast as I exited at 8.45. The hotel itself is nice and the chap that came to let me in was very pleasant but a hotel with no staff on site is poor in my book."

Despite check in advertised as "from 14:00" , when we arrived the front desk was shuttered and locked so we waited. Luckily a guest came down the stairs and told us check in had to be done at a pub across the busy road from the hotel. This is not stated anywhere on the confirmation document.
