1. Port of Ibiza

In the summer, there’s no better place to be than the Port of Ibiza, which throngs with international visitors disembarking from yachts and people hopping between the famous clubs and bars of the district. Originally built in the 17th century under the Charter of Juan Ponce, the port has been recently upgraded to accommodate the luxury ships that descend on this tiny island throughout the summer months. 2. Talamanca Beach

Talamanca Beach (Playa de Talamanca) is the closest beach to the center of Ibiza Town. 4. Las Salinas Beach

If you had to pick one iconic Ibiza beach, it would be Las Salinas. This long stretch of soft golden sand is backed by a nature reserve filled with pine trees. Las Salinas is unique because of its location adjacent to the large salt flats from which it gets its name. These salt flats are worth a visit in their own right as they have been harvested for salt for hundreds of years. Because of the bay’s proximity, the sea here is particularly salty and makes it delightfully easy for swimmers stay afloat.

5. Calo des Moro Beach

Calo des Moro is a stretch of beach located on the northern edge of San Antonio’s harbour. It offers a respite from the parties in town, though the soundtracks of the clubs can still be heard on the beach. Being only a small beach, Calo des Moro can get crowded, but far less so than San Antonio Beach. Because of its easy accessibility and fairly shallow waters, Calo des Moro is the perfect place for families to enjoy the sun and sand.

Photo taken on my recent visit to the beautiful island of Ibiza, in the town centre is the statue of Joaquín Vara de Rey y Rubio, born on Ibiza on 14th August 1841 and died fighting as a General in the Independence War of Cuba 1st July 1898. I didn’t notice the arc of light over the statue until I looked at my pictures later that night, it was the only picture it happened in! 🇪🇸
