"The room I was given needed a fair bit of attention from the cleanliness of the bathroom,filling in the toilet roll and tissues Restaurant was ok but the food needed more variation.However the staff at the restaurant were very nice and helpful. Although it says there is a spa they mean it only offered massages. I feel Expedia could have done a better job with verifying all that is claimed in the description.I think it should be only a Two star rating. "

"The ONLY property in Darjeeling with luxury rooms having balcony facing the majestic Kanchenjunga. The hotel is 100% Vegetarian but there are so many landmark N Veg options at stone throw that this is not an impediment. Restuarant is serving amazing food along with daily live singing by local talents. Darjeeling station where all the Toy Train (heritage steam engine driven trains) start for joy ride is 1 min away from hotel. "

"I stayed 2 delightful nights at the Ivanhoe. Your managers couldnt have been more helpful and thoughtful. The old part of the hotel is far nicer than the new annex. I stayed in a cosy room ( Col Sir Younghusband )with a fireplace, surrounded by thoughts on who had graced these rooms in the past. A place with a lot of character and lovely staff. "Okay hotel, rooms are quite spacious, some with good views of the mountains in the distance. Quite close to the centre of Darjeeling on a busy road (to be fair all roads are busy there). The room we were in was a bit damp, this side of the hotel doesn't get sunlight at this time of year (December) so in this season it remains quite humid and therefore cold (there are enough blankets that you can sleep comfortably though) throughout the night and the day. Staff was nice but also sometimes too...

"Service, location, friendly accommodating staff made us feel like home. Kanchanjungha views from hotel view point.. outside some rooms, dining hall, outside reception.. everywhere. Gave some suggestions and feed back to the general manager who was very appreciative of the constructive feed back. Passion of the staff to serve customers is unparalleled and trickles down from the leadership of Debarya, who seems to talk about the resort like it's his baby. Doma in dining room, authentic Nepalese...

"The rooms were clean and the staff were really helpful. They need to make the hotel more friendly for the people with disabilities. They need to put side rails up and make the hotel more wheel chair accessible. Furniture is old, basically to maintain the colonial heritage, but still the furniture could polished to look new. Otherwise no complaints. They just need to make it more friendly for the DISABLED since it’s on the top of a hill."

"The hotel is located quite far from the main areas of interests. The quality of food served is low. The restaurant staff need to trained to understand customer needs. There is considerable delay in serving the a la carte menu."

"Had a horrible stay at this hotel. Except the view from the window and the bedroom, everything was horrible. The toilet bidet was leaking and I had to ask someone to come fix it. The toilet flush was overflowing at times. I slipped and fell in the shower because the bathroom floor is made to be slippery. On top of that, they charged us exorbitant prices for any food we bought there; way above the Darjeeling average."

"The view from the rooms is exceptional. Being able to lay on bed and see the Himalayan Mountain range was the highlight. Staff were extremely helpful anf friendly. Thank-you we really enjoyed our stay and were fortinate to see the snow capped peaks most days."

"Very welcoming from the lady in charge, but room was extremely cold and damp. Furniture was wet to touch. We had to pay an extra 500Rs per day for a feeble small fan heater, that wasn’t very effective. Close to railway station and a 15 minute walk to the main ‘town’ bit. "

"There was nothing there to like. Everything was terrible & not in a livable condition. No working bathroom, no weather controlled rooms, very old & dirty towels. Please remove this property from your list. No one should live in such horrible conditions after paying so much. I should get some refund back if not the entire amount. Thanks 🙏"
