I recently spent ten nights at this hotel and it was great! I was traveling alone so the smallness of the room was fine. The only drawback to the room was having to step up to enter the bathroom. I appreciated the room humidifier (important in Tokyo's dry winter air), the hot water pitcher (with everything needed to make a cup of coffee), blackout curtains, the other room amenities, and the quietness of the hotel. The hotel is extremely close to the train station, with lots of neighborhood restaurants, a little bakery almost next door, and a 7-11 down the street. There is a cafe/coffee shop next to the hotel that is very busy: good food and coffee but a little pricey. I will definitely stay at the APA Asakusa Tawaramachi Ekimae in the future!
