It fulfilled the requirements I needed for this trip(clean and private room). Would not recommend for anyone who wants to spend a lot of time in their own room (but your on a trip so why would you). Great extras (hot springs).

The Onsen on the top of the building was very nice. Didn’t needed the shower in my bathroom as I always took a bath in the onsen after a sightseeing day. Room was small but as described, so nothing to complain in that area. I was only missing a window, mine was a milk window so you couldn’t see anything

1. This hotel is only 6 minutes from the train station and about 6 minutes from the heart of Akihabara 2. Our room was tiny, but compact in a smart way. I say this only because if you have multiple suitcases, it might be a tight squeeze! 3. Staff was nice, check in and out was easy, the hotel offers a hot spring of some sort (didn’t try it out) and free noodles after 9 or so which was nice

Very helpful staff and the rooms were very neat. The hot spring was also a very nice touch. It was also very close to the main Akihabara strip which made this hotel a great choice.

The common bathrooms are excellent idea. My family enjoyed it quite a bit after a long walk for a whole day!

The rooms are small but so worth it for the onsen (bathing area) the location is great. The breakfast was meh, better to just go to lawson or 711

I picked this hotel for the amazing location right in the middle of Akihabara, but was pleasantly surprised by the place itself. Our room was very clean, attractive and spacious, with a good Aircon system, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The rooftop bath is unique and really luxurious.

OVERALL: The hotel is nice and tidy. Standard to Tokyo hotels, the room is small with only enough space to open 1 carry-on and 1 checked luggage. It is well-situated close to good restaurants and shops to eat and browse in. If you are into the anime and electronic scene, this place is a must stay.

While this is a 3-star hotel (meaning don't expect a full kitchen or jacuzzi), it's probably the best one I've ever used, and I lived in Japan for several years. It's a short walk from the train station, right at the end of the usual "otaku" lane foreigners love. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. While freebies like ice cream and ramen aren't exactly the highest quality, they're still free. Best freebie? LAUNDRY! Not just the water, but soap the machines add automatically, free of charge (dryer is 100 yen for 20 min, which is pretty standard). Free public bath too, if that's your thing.

I generally like Dormy Inn for their no-frills service but reasonable policies and very good amenities, like a breakfast room with free tea, laundry and dvd and book library. But what I especially liked about this one is the amazing spa / onsen and sauna. It's all very small but the layout is perfect, even has an outdoor part and a cold bath. For such a small setup it really shows how much difference a good design makes. The rooms are very small and so are the bathrooms, but they also have amenities like a fridge, kettle and separate basin, so they are very convenient to stay in. Overall I was pleasantly surprised that such a small and low-cost hotel gets everything right.
