"The location is excellent, the staff were all really nice and helpful, dining room and food, very good. Sadly, no lift, so being on the top floor was a bit awkward, and our room, though clean and tidy, and comfortable, was a bit tired, and the noise from the fairground across the road, and the boy racers in the night was intrusive because, in the heatwave we had to leave the windows open because there is no A.C. in the main building (there is in the annex). Not a destination hotel for me, but...

"The hotel is a little outdated, the room could have done with a bit of a dust, but the beds were clean and comfortable. Ideal location, except for the pubs/clubs opposite music till early hours, but wasn’t bad enough to stop me sleeping and our window was right opposite. Had on site parking which was very handy. The lady behind reception was absolutely lovely very helpful and extremely pleasant. She made up for the other minor issues."

"The Longship is overall distinctly average hotel. Its location is 1.3 miles from Jarrow and Hebburn metro stations which is handy. No breakfast options available, If your thinking of buying a Croissant for breakfast at the local shops forget it as they are at best basic. We had a lot of difficulties with the toilet roll dispenser, which is a terrible design, maybe it was just old. The shower is basic but functional, however it does not look very appealing either.
