1st time in Bali
Very cute, jungle vibes. Lots of stones and steps. The bungalow room was amazing. The bathroom was so spacious. The bed was very comfortable. I wasnt a fan of the wooden platform under the bed. I scraped my legs several times. In 48 hours, the internet only worked for about 10 hours. I was told it affected the area, but Im still in Ubud and the internet works here. Neighborhood bars are so loud, I thought the music was coming from the hotel. Not recommended for light sleepers, but it is pretty peaceful.

Very pleasant stay in Ubud
We had a really good stay. Large rooms with extra large bathroom and own private court yard. Lovely and accommodating staff. Beautifully kept gardens and pool. Very centrally located between the Monkey Forest and the Palace. We would stay at this hotel again in the future and recommend rooms close to the pool. Free bicycles were also offered and daily complimentary in room snacks which was very nice.

Stayed at the Barong for a couple of days with our 3 year old. We opted for the deluxe room, located in our own private courtyard and pool, which was a wonderful experience. There's just something about waking up and jumping in the pool right from your bedroom door. Beautiful and lush courtyard, cozy room and a luxurious bathroom. Great location and beautiful grounds. The only minor issue would be the breakfast offerings, which were a little below standard in our opinion. Other than that, a great place to stay on your visit to Ubud.

Fabulous location so you can walk everywhere but still quiet at night. (Rooms are in the back so away from the street) Pool was perfect! We asked for late checkout but our rooms were booked... so they gave us another room for a few hours...It was so kind of them! Such amazing customer service!

Most comfortable bed ever...
The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in... stunning white soft sheets too. Service was excellent, every staff member went out of their way. Beautiful pool and pool bar setting. The hotel goes onto quite a busy street though, and not the best street to walk to the beach. The room - 3rd floor, was small and had a block above the balcony rail - so we felt very closed in. The shower water also took close to 10 minutes to heat up. But overall a fantastic resort to stay in Seminake, good location.

The staff is wonderful, my last day was my birthday (not sure how they knew) and 4 of them came to my room with a cake singing happy birthday!! They greeted me everytime they seen me with a smile. I was traveling alone so was a little nervous when choosing a place but I felt totally safe there. My only negative was if you ask them to book you a ride he uses his friend Katut who charges a lot more than just walking out and using one of the other people, that part kinda took away from the “family” feel they have going. But maybe they don’t even know this driver is doing that. I would definitely go back to the barong I just wouldn’t use their driver. It’s clean and comfortable! House keeping is amazing, they come in twice a day to change out towels, bring bottled water and empty any trash. Plus they bring fruit in the morning and some snack in the evening. Some reviews said bad Wifi but for me it was good. The massage was nice too. The restaurant had good food, just a small selection but I am very picky. They offer a few trips from the hotel that is included, if I had it to do again I would do the trekking the first day just to get a feel for the area. It’s just a great hotel with amazingly nice people.

Central Ubud
Overall , Barong was better than I had expected. We only stayed a couple of nights and wanted a central position, so we could walk everwhere, and this place is perfect in that respect. At the same time, the area where the rooms are, and pool is very quiet at restful. Our room was large, with a full bathroom, incl shower and bath. Very clean and tidy. Reasonable price at the mini bar. Would stay again.

Perfect stay, prime location, walking distance to Ubud Art Market and a lot of eateries around. Good cleanliness. The staffs clean up twice a day and provide some snacks like peanut and cookies everyday. Staffs are friendly and helpful

Everything is fine but a bit old, the people are nice and friendly. Room is big and the mattress is comfortable. Shower is weak but the bathtub is large. Rooms are well renovated and new, but the hotel environment can be improved and renovated.

Great location BUT security & WiFi bad
Hotel is in a great location, and the staff are very eager to help, however a few annoying aspects... The WiFi connection is terrible (didn’t work the majority of our stay) which is an inconvenience when trying to plan your trip. Also I feel they need to do more to ensure there’s no mosquitoes in your actual bedroom, maybe they leave the door open whilst cleaning? Also the bedroom door to our room wasn’t secure and could have easily have been broken in to. A bit of a worry as the safe was broken too!

Barong Hotel - Ubud
The hotel had a wow look when first checking in but on closer inspection it was tired and in need of some TLC. Some of the issues were the main tap on the bath didnt work, but we overcame the issue by using the hand spray on the bath to fill it. The other point was most of the nozzles on the shower head were blocked or facing in random directions so you didnt get wet in the shower. We were only staying for 2 days so didnt bother to mention the issues.

The Barong was beautiful. We truly loved the place. it was quiet, the room was amazing. It was clean and tidy. The staff cleaned the rooms daily and then also came into the room to put down the curtains and 'prepped' the bed for sleeping swell as turning all the lights on.

The property was great.... JUST REMEMBER YOU ARE IN UBUD INDONESIA... things are busy and what you might take for granted at home might be a luxury in Ubud.. the shower, bathroom and living area we're clean and nice... The bed was HARD.. the ceiling fan was obnoxiously noisy.. the property is located in a busy part of the city. Circle K right across the street.. you can seriously walk the whole city easily.. now for the staff... You will make friends for life.. great people amazing attitudes..

I liked the fact that the hotel was in a central location and yet it was very quite and relaxing. The private villas are large and are well served by the hotel staff. It came with its own private pool and breakfast was delivered every morning.

Best accommodation, staff and location in Ubud
I originally only booked 2 nights here until I could get my bearings on what I wanted to do in Bali but ended up booking another 2 nights. Place is lovely and they keep it up as they were doing some repairs and painting while I was there. Breakfast is amazing. Staff are out of this world friendly and helpful. They discovered it was my birthday while I was there and had a cake made for me!! How sweet is that? On that day too, they upgraded me to a different bungalow with my own private pool! They are helpful in booking tours and arranging transportation. I didn’t want to leave this place but there were other parts of Bali I had yet to discover. Nonetheless, I will definitely be back to this little slice of paradise in Ubud. Even though it’s centrally located in the heart of everything, you wouldn’t know it or hear the noise from the main street. Don’t miss out in staying here!

Couldn't be better located! In the heart of Ubud - this hotel sits right in the middle between the Monkey Forest and the Market/Royal Palace. The customer service was amazing here as well. They really went above and beyond. The staff was incredible. I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman that helped us during our stay - he took us on a mini tour on morning. From my understanding, they offer two complimentary tours depending on availability (one in morning and one in the afternoon). We did the morning one and he took us for a walk to the Campuhan Ridge Walk - just arriving it was nice to have this accompanied walk to get a better feel for the area. The next day he also assisted us in arranging a tour outside of Ubud. The hotel itself was very picturesque and has a very rustic feel. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We also took advantage of the spa - great massages!
