"Very friendly staff. Despite our very late arrival the owner of the establishment ensured me I could call him and he would assist us on the check-in. Very large, cosy and comfortable rooms. Plenty parking availability. I warmly recommend this hotel for both business travellers as tourists."

"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

"Frühstücksbuffet war frisch und reichhaltig, leider waren die Brötchen Aufbackware. Zwar von der guten Sorte, aber nicht vom Bäcker. Die gekochten Frühstückseier waren leider hartgekocht. Der Rest war wirklich gut und lecker."
