"My four-night stay at Hotel Don Ernesto La Chimba was wonderful, highlighted by the friendly staff and the absolutely excellent breakfast spread. The location is incredibly peaceful, tucked away in the jungle yet conveniently just 30 minutes from the airport. While some reviewers highlight that the rooms aren't Ritz-Carlton quality, I think it is important to note that the prices certainly reflect that, and the hotel offers tremendous value for an authentic and relaxing stay."

"This is our “go to” hotel when we go to the San Jose area. They’re like a 2nd family now. Any issues I might have with the room are addressed in a timely manner. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. We feel safe there."

"The property grounds are very well landscaped. The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The pool area needs to be better maintained as the decking needs to be replaced before it collapses when someone walks on it. The rooms need updating. Once the new owners take possession, maybe hey will make the necessary improvements. We would love to return once upgrades have been completed. "
