Room For Improvement

We use booking.com a lot for a variety of personal travel and in this case made a very last minute reservation at this place without really looking at other alternatives in Steveston. Instructions for check-in via email stated needing a key code into their home and they would give us our # - they are absentee owners and English isn't their first language. We called and had several confusing conversations. However upon arrival to the house, greeted by a very nice and friendly woman who is Canadian and were assisted in all ways that we needed with kind attention and explanation. in general, this is not someplace I would ever chose to stay at again - it's not designed to accommodate most western culture needs and I'm an American-Asian. Interior furnishings very Chinese, artificial and not useful, big house with no comfortable space for human interaction/tv;our roomhad no appealing aesthetics with lumpy pillows, no top sheet (a polyester coverlet), bathroom was clean with bare necessities -sparse and very basic furnishings. Overall, the entire house held No Charm. It was a few miles to the town of Steveston but not without transportation. In a residential cookie-cutter neighborhood. The house manager was the best part of our whole experience! Perhaps the owners need to decide who they want their clients to be and represent themselves accordingly. With the assistance of their house manager, there's room for improvement!

I did not realize it was an airbnb as it was listed under hotels in Expedia. It was good, basic. The owner is very friendly and accommodating.

A last-minute change put me in the Gilhurst Crescent instead of the Petts Rd location. The "inn" is a wing of a luxury home with nice appointment and facilities. Lots of space. Parking space close by. Quiet environment. Wish list: 1) An indoor mat at the entrance. 2) Cable or internet for the TV.

Misrepresentation

We purchased the charming inn as a hotel but it is a house and has someone that moves you from one location to another with a up grade before you get there. This is not a Bed and Breakfast either as there is no breakfast. Just a bedroom with no TV in the house. The place is clean but there is no feeling of security because the owners do not stay there. I feel this is more like a scam where people are renting some ones house by booking out there rooms.

Ghetto house

False advertisement ! There was no t.v. in the whole house ! The kitchen was not useable (not enough /dirty plates ,utensils ) laundry room was not labeled ,had to search for it . Room was cold , was offered blankets but no heater option , window in bathrooom didn’t close . This is not ok if you are running a business , this would not happen at a Hotel .

Charming Inn charming indeed.

Owner picked me up from airport and arranged next morning return taxi. Location close to airport. Rooms very clean, quiet and accommodating. Owner willing to provide any additional amenities upon request. Cost almost half of average hotel/inn in vicinity.

Actually just a fancy house

Immediately after booking my day of stay I was called by the property owner and was sent to another one of their “hotels” because of a leak in the room I had booked. I was upgraded from a queen to a king, which was nice. When I arrived at the hotel I found it was not actually a hotel... it was just a fancy house. This seems to be the case with the Charming Inn as well, but the owner said the place I stayed was nicer. The owner texted me the instructions on how to get into the house and the key was in door for my assigned room, which was just a regular house’s bedroom with a shower/bathtub. There were slippers for me to wear inside. There were several other people staying there but they didn’t speak English so I don’t know how they found the place. They were talking loudly for several hours and that noise and the smell of the dinner they were cooking carried into my room. The property was well maintained and clean. It being in a middle of a neighborhood was not ideal for me since I didn’t have a car. If you’re looking for a traditional hotel experience I wouldn’t book here.

A call before the stay directed me to a different house in Richmond with entry code and room number. New big furnished house, very impersonal and no soul, Many bulbs missing everywhere to same on electricity, I guess. No one there, some guests came in later. No TV anywhere in the house. In the room, no chair, no TV, no desk, no side lamps, no kleenex, no bath mat, no facecloth. No picture on the walls anywhere in the house, feeling weird. Good Internet though.

There was no hotel (or Inn) at that location just a private residence and no response at the locked gate. We phoned the number listed. A man answered ans asked us t wait at that location. He arrived in a car and asked us to follow him to another location, also a private residence not a hotel, motel or inn. We were not looking for Air B&B. It appeared to be a scam. We refused to stay or deal with this man. We have since received a refund on our credit card. Now we would suggest you remove this "Hotel" from your listing and send us an apology for our inconvenience.

The space was like a B&B. Due to the Inn itself being full I was offered to stay at their extended facilities. I was greeted even at the late hour of my arrival and assisted with my luggage and getting settled. It was greatly appreciated.

I first booked this property under the assumption that it was a hotel. I was relocated to the, quote 'new hotel', once i arrived to the house which was occupied by a family, it did not show any resemblance of a hotel. The kitchen in the house did not have any cooking utensils or equipment, which made it extremely hard to cook anything, obviously. The room in which i stayed in was however, very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was also clean. The overprice house is not a place i would recommend, you can get a clean comfortable bedroom at half the price anywhere else. I felt like it was a spare room in a living home.
