Helm's is exactly what we need. It's cozy next to a large park. It does not have the suffocating big hotel feel. The place has no carpet so it's easy to keep clean. We could open windows to enjoy Victoria fresh air. It's an easy walk to downtown. Wonderful staff. I would stay here again.

Spent two nights here and loved the casual atmosphere and the excellent location. The room had a small kitchen and sitting area as well as aspirate bedroom. Itwas clean and well stocked with all we needed. Will definitely consider this hotel if we return to Victoria in the future

Very short easy walk from the Victoria Convention Centre. Well appointed kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave, coffee machine, kettle and teapot. Very quiet, and comfortable beds. Good shower. Would definitely stay there again.

The Helm Inn far exceeded our expectations. We first noticed the nifty sliding door that works off our door card. Then realized every surface was either new or freshly painted. Coming back late from the inner harbour we found the parking lot very well lit and safe looking. Luckily our room had heavy curtains as we slept in and opened them to brilliant sunlight. We will be booking early next year to ensure we get this place again.

The Helm's Inn is in the perfect location. Beacon Hill Park is just across the street and is lovely for morning walks. We saw deer, peacocks, herons, turtles, and black squirrels. We walked to the Empress for tea, to Chinatown and Old Town, and all through James Bay for groceries, restaurants, and coffee shops. It's also right next to the Royal BC Museum and Parliament, both worth visiting. The kitchenette in the room was great. The laundry facilities came in handy too. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The only thing that would have made it nicer is if there had been a hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Ultimately, the location and amenities at Helm's for the price we paid far outweighed the benefit of a hot tub and pool at the more expensive large hotels in the area.
