Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay. The room had a noticeable musty smell upon arrival and felt unusually warm. We set the AC to 18.5°C before bed, but it never cooled the room. It was extremely hot and humid all night and we barely slept because of how uncomfortable it was.
The next morning we contacted the front desk and were told maintenance would come. We waited about an hour, but no one showed up. We had plans and couldn’t keep waiting. When we returned later, the room was still just as hot and the AC clearly was not functioning.
Because the issue was not resolved and the room was uncomfortably warm, we decided to leave early instead of staying our final night and booked a ferry back to Vancouver.
Very frustrating experience, especially given the price. Basic room comfort and working AC should not be an issue.
We have stayed in the past and it was OK - as the hotel is older and aging perhaps maintenace is no longer sufficient.
