"This hotel is in a great location. Close to Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island. Lots of restaurant choices in the area. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was a great benefit!"

"Expedia put me and my wife in a wheelchair room, something that would not have happened if I went directly through the hotel. Unfortunately, having no counter space and a sink next to the bed, and our wake up times 2 hours apart, it made for a miserable experience trying to shave and brush teeth in the dark, my wife was not happy and neither was I, I called expedia and they basically said it is what it is, otherwise the manager at the hotel was great and apologetic, we cut our trip short as it was not livable"

"We loved everything. The staff was exceptionally nice. My only suggestion would be for a gluten free option in the restaurant (such as a gluten free pasta or pizza) or the food places outside. However, this will not stop me from returning. "

"I have stayed here many times over the past 25 years but this will be the last. I should have listened to recent reviews. We paid $400 a night for a room on the second floor with a broken elevator. The shower door continued to fall off so they came in and took it down and rehung it but did not clean up after themselves so I had to clean the floor. There was mold in the shower. The room was EXTREMELY outdated. I don't mind paying for a room but you need to put the money back into the property. The pool is beautiful but it is open to the public. People came in on bikes so we couldn't always get chairs. I have never been to a resort where the pools are open to the public. This is done so they can sell $14 drinks to people off the street. The staff at the Tiki Bar and pool bar were great but the office staff were rude and made you feel like you were bothering them. It would have been $100 more a night to stay at Margaretville and I am sorry I didn't spend the extra money. For the difference it is a no brainer in the future. Believe the other reviews. If you can book it for under $200 it is probably worth it for the location but nothing else."
