"We were disappointed that the pictures advertising the Walton Hall Hotel & Spa were quite deceptive. The actual hotel is not at all connected to the historic Walton Hall, and the hotel wing and room that we experienced were very worn and in need of a renovation. The pool and fitness room were listed on Expedia as amenities, but these facilities are not owned by the hotel and require payment for use (after registering our complaint, we were given free passes). "I requested breakfast but was told they didn’t do it anymore. The stairs were cramped with 2 turns and inadequate/absent rails. We did not meet any staff. There was a note saying how we could ring them. The hot and cold water at the wash basin were plumbed in the wrong way round. I did not see any indicator for which was hot or cold. It matters because this is where you fill the kettle. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm."

"These lodges are just beautiful! Perfect location for the party we had at Rise and Grind. Beautiful views of the lake from the balcony. Spotlessly clean . Well equipped with kettle/ biscuits etc . Reception staff very welcoming. Honestly can’t fault it . Will visit again one day "

"Property was nice and room ok. Shower was a powerful but temperature kept varying. Bar food and drinks were nice but disappointing that on Expedia (who we booked through) it said pets stay free but on arrival charges were applied for the dog which is why I’ve given a lower rating. Did mention to the member of staff who checked us in but nothing was done about this and Expedia still shows as pets stay free "
