Queens Court Hotel
8/10 Good
"Staff were very polite and helpful. Very nice breakfast. Cleaning would benefit from more attention. Rubbish left under dressing table, very dusty TV and some surfaces. Over half of one curtain was hanging off curtain rail making it difficult to fully draw the curtains. A little more attention to detail would make a huge difference."

The Royal & Fortescue
10/10 Excellent
"Receptionist was very friendly and welcoming at check-in. The room was spacious and clean with a large bathroom and tub, very welcome after traveling on the train. Tea and coffee was available in the room, which was most appreciated. The staff throughout the hotel were always friendly and accommodating."

Holiday Inn Express Exeter - City Centre by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Clean room, but the shower needs some mould magic to remove all the black mould from the shower. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't get any housekeeping during our stay, which was a bit disappointing as we would've liked fresh towels. Good location and there is parking, although it did look quite busy. Didn't try the breakfast, as it ended at 10.00am, which we thought was a bit early for a weekend morning. "

Exeter Rougemont hotel by Sunday
8/10 Good
"The hotel is lovely and in an excellent central location. The room was good & bed comfy but even though there was a fan on the room it was still unbearably hot (this was not during the heatwave either)."

University of Exeter Holland Hall
8/10 Good
"It's in a good location near Exeter St Davids train station, but other guests should be aware it is at the top of a big hill if you're not driving. Also, you may have to walk up several flights of stairs to get to your room. Our stay was mostly a good one. Room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was included, which was a nice surprise. My only complaint is in relation to the check-in process, as your room seems to be assigned in advance rather than on a first come first served basis at check-in time. We were aware that check-in time was 3pm and that the hotel doesn't offer early check-in, but as we were in Exeter to go to a music festival, we arrived about half an hour early on the off-chance our room might be ready. We were told that our room wasn't ready yet, but others who arrived at the same time were allowed to check-in early as their rooms were ready. I asked if it would be ready by 3pm (the advertised check-in time) but was told they couldn't guarantee that as the rooms would be "ready when they're ready". The staff were perfectly polite and friendly, but this process seems odd as I assume the majority of their rooms are identical (it's a university halls during term time). Fortunately we were able to leave are bags and check-in after the festival, but it would have been nice to have a shower. I would probably stay here again, but I hope the hotel will review their check-in process."
