"It's a lovely building close to the M11 in lovely grounds with parking. What I didn't like was check in at 4pm, it's out of step with most other places which are 3pm.
Most hotels can get the rooms ready 11-3pm. The room was very small and the style was very dated, the rooms away from the main building are not well signed and a room for 2 people had no hand towels, 2 bath towels and the only toiletries was a minuscule bar of soap, no shower gel or shampoo. All hotels supply more than that and most people would expect them, you get more than that at a Travelodge. It was made worse by the fact there were no shops nearby and the vending machine stock was low of every thing and the cost was too high £2 for a bag o crisps , £3 for a can of cola.
It's is presented as an upmarket hotel but it's very disappointing, dated and not great value. The main building is impressive but the interiors of the chalet rooms feel like an old people's home and are in desperate need of renovation, it could be amazing but unfortunately it's outdated and mumsey at best."
