"Quirky but intersting decor. Lovely friendly staff and pooch! Fabulous outlook from the front of the property. Some nice touches like delivering breakfast to your door which had a good selection of breakfast items. Also, exquisite selection of toileteries."

"Enjoyed our stay at the Royal, friendly staff, and the room was very good, a little tired in places but nothing to detract from the overall quality of the hotel. Good breakfast choice, although a bigger plate would be nice, a side plate not an ideal size for a full English breakfast. Great sea view from out room and the hotel is in a prime spot to vist all that Whitby as to offer. "

"Excellent location lovely accommodation, met by the owner on arrival who explained everything to us parking permit to use while we were there 👍 Only point was we could’ve done with some blackout curtains as we were in the attic with the sunshine in there at 6 o’clock in the morning but can say it didn’t spoil our stay and would highly recommend it 👍"

"The parking is limited for the guest house but it's like this for most of them, if you do get a spot the guest house do give you a free parking permit, it was full on our visit so we had to park in the leisure center up the road cost £13 for 24 hours, the room was was clean as was the bathroom with power shower, tea and a kettle provided, an hairdryer, WiFi was a little unpredictable, and we had no natural light or view as it was overlooking another guest house that was so close it blocked out most of the light, but as we were there just for an overnighter it wasn't a problem, the location is good, about a 10 minute walk down to the town center, there is a petrol station and the top of the road too.. "

"Absolutely lovely stay at this property. We were only there for 1 night but can't reccommend enough. Tea, coffee and biscuits were left in the kitchen for us. TV in the living room was smart TV and there was a TV in both bedrooms. Beds were a tiny bit springy but still comfortable. Shower downstairs is a bit dated but still useable. Incredibly clean though absolutely no complaints on that front. Property manager was in touch and easy to contact. Some might be confused by the parking situation but it is laid out very clearly in the information provided. Would happily stay again!"
