"The temperature in the room at night. We liked it about 3 degrees cooler, but couldn't get the thermostat to go down. Called the front desk, they said it would take 20 minutes or so. We tried 3 more times, never came down and don't think it was meant too. We stayed with our Shi-zu (dog), probably the 30th or so hotel with the dog, never a problem. Apparently there was a complaint of the dog barking. The hotel staff put us in a high traffic room, next to the door to go outside and close to the elevator. Dog must have heard the commotion in the hallway and barked. Recommend people with dogs be put in a low traffic area, like at the end of the hall."

"Only one elevator worked and the rooms are only made up every other day so we had to request clean towels."
Holiday Inn Express Blowing Rock South by IHG

"Room was clean. Nice coffee and cocoa available. Breakfast was standard. Good selection of items. Adequate seating. They ran out of sausage. Check in was a wait when there was two registers and three people chatting. When it was my turn, it was fast and efficient. I would recommend you stay here."

"Very nice, spacious room and bathroom. Close to town, could walk over to it. Loved the varied shops. Only slight negative, the water in the shower cycled from hot to cold which made for a quick shower! Easy in and out parking and a lovely sitting area outside."

"Super smooth check in. Very accommodating when we wanted to stay an extra night. Good location. Quiet, private, peaceful. Only drawbacks were 1) the lighting in the inside of the cabins very poor, needs to be improved. 2) as travelers we've become accustomed to certain amenities that almost all locations supply now, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, this location only supplied two small bars of soap that could be improved."

"Convenient location to downtown Boone. Close to App St University too! Spectacular room. Clean and updated. Unfortunately it rained that weekend and we didn't get to enjoy the rooftop lounge. The breakfast was delicious. Make sure you try a pastry from Stick Boys."
