"Clean room helpful staff"

"The room its self was clean and tidy nice freshly made bed. The staff were all nice and friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was okay could have done with a bit more choice on the cooked breakfast. The only thing that was a slight downside was parking as there is no onsite car park I had to use a car park that was a slight walk away from the hotel."

"Great quiet hotel. Ample parking for everyone.Staff are really helpful and friendly. Staff attrition is low, we stay about every 6-7 weeks and it is the same people. This shows that working conditons, pay etc must be acceptable for staff to stay making it a happy place.Dog friendly rooms with lovely river walks past the rugby club down past the canal or along the river and around the wildlife reserve. Food is great, especially the amazing choice at breakfast. We stay in different grades of room depending on length of stay. The 2 bed suites are situated close to the lifts but are sound insulated to a point. Amenities include minifridge, aircon, fan heaters and cooling fans, 2 double beds and 2 bed settees. Bathroom is functional and well stocked with soaps,shampoos in pump dispensers. Local wildlife when on walks complete the atmosphere. Cannot really fault this for the realistic price per night."

Mercure Daventry Court Hotel

"Overall pretty good, if a little soulless and corporate. The staff were very nice as was the breakfast. The furniture was a little battered, but servicable. The highlight was meeting Gus the ginger and white cat who kept walking in, then seeing the staff throw him out. It reminded me of the Flintstones. Well done Gus keep coming you bring some life to the place."

Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel

"Nice room, public spaces are functional not particularly inviting, one of our party had a room with no air conditioning, in fairness the hotel doesn't list air-conditioning as a facility but I think most people would assume that a fairly modern building like this would have it. Also the aircon in our room would not respond to the temperature adjustments, so it was either on full blast or turned off, not ideal. Bed was comfortable, nice towels. I was quite impressed with the bar staff, they worked well together, but for a place of this capacity the bar seemed a bit small, maybe there's another bar we didn't find. Overall it was good, and reasonably priced."

"Very clean and great staff. The breakfast was lovely. Nice to find out that the meat from the brasserie is all halal, which meant I had a steak on our second night. Also the ravioli dish was wonderful too. Loved the food. The spa facilities are fantastic and not busy. Other guests were perfectly pleasant, didn't experience any issues considering we were the only non-white couple there and my wife dresses modestly. We spent an afternoon there across the various rooms. A few hours relaxing in the spa garden was the perfect way to pass an afternoon on a warm day. Only a couple of minor niggles - I called the reception a couple of times and nobody answered. We were there during the heatwave and found that the AC is set so it won't go below 19 so we had to close all the blinds in the room the entire time and found that they were effectively acting as radiators with the heat. We asked for a fan to be bought up and my wife had to ask a second time in regards to that before they provided one. Also as someone that absolutely loves coffee I was really disappointed with the coffee here. I don't think it's that difficult to improve but I get the feeling all the coffee comes from automated machines rather than someone making it by hand. It could be improved very easily by getting fresher beans and some training for staff. Lovely stay overall and would go back here or to another hotel from the same chain with no reservations. "
