The Glen Mhor Hotel and Uile-bheist Brewery & Distillery
10/10 Excellent
"Clean room, pleasant check in. Not sound proof as you would expect in modern establishments. Great breakfast and overall staff though. I do recommend this place"

Bracken Hide Hotel

"Everything is very well designed. The rooms are super comfortable and cosy. The lounge/lobby/bar are both beautiful and comfortable. And the food is just delicious!"

Balmacara Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Original room mis-sold as a king bed, when it was a double. Moved to a king room which housed a loud unit containing heating pipes. Some staff were more helpful than others.
Bed was reasonably comfortable.
Breakfast was lack lustre for the equivalent cost however the coffee was nice.
Hot water in the room got scalding hot "

Tulloch Castle Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The room was very comfortable and clean with all the amenities you needed for your stay. We had a twin bed room and the beds were comfortable with extra blankets and pillows in the room. The bathroom was nice with a towel warmer and soft towels. My only complaint, but this is common throughout, no wash cloth...
The front desk staff were very friendly and professional, we checked in quickly and given our room key. All of the staff we met were very friendly. The breakfast was very good with a nice selection of cold items as well hot menu items. I really appreciated the little pot of coffee you got at your table instead of having to go to the buffet to get more.
The bar was nice, it was not as "cozy" as others we stayed in during our trip."

The Royal Highland Hotel

B&B HOTEL Inverness
2/10 Terrible
"I have stayed many times at this hotel and this will probably be the last time.
I paid good money for a totally sleepless night and a very basic breakfast.
When booking, I specifically asked for a room at the front of the hotel. I do so regularly, as I know from past experience that rooms, particularly the low even numbers can be noisy, so I was disappointed when arrived and was told that I was allocated Room 102. I told reception that I had bad memories of room 102 as I had stayed there in the past and it is the noisiest room in the hotel; which was why I had requested a room at the front. Reception was very unhelpful, completely unsympathetic and simply said there was nothing they could do.
Room 102 lived up to my expectations, with unbearable loud noises from extractor fans and other machinery operating not far from the room window. I couldn't do any work because concentrating was impossible. I am a light sleeper - hence my request which was made when booking - and I couldn't get any sleep because of the constant racket from outside, which went on throughout the entire night.
Breakfast next morning was a lacklustre affair. No fruit salad, no fresh fruit, no fried eggs on offer and the other breakfast items were fewer than is usually available and they were very slow to be replenished when they ran down.
Check in the night before had been painfully slow and staff on reception were not helpful. I wouldn't want to go through this again and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
