The Inn at Monchanin Village is a group of cottages and not your typical hotel per se. Registration is at the main office, or as they call it, The Barn. I was a little confused at first but can honestly say that I loved my stay there. Staff is friendly and caring. and my cozy little room / cottage was perfect for my needs. I could walk to "The Barn" and call a lyft or Uber to go wherever I needed / wanted to go. Was perfect for me. Room was kept clean but you need to let them know if you want it serviced each day during your stay. I do not know if they are pet friendly, but I do not currently have a pet. I plan to go back in the Spring, Summer or Fall. Christmas visit was fun and lots of sales at nearby places.

The history & energy of the staff. The bedrooms were large and the bathrooms nicely equipped. The decor could be updated from the 1980s. Our love seat cushion was backwards- when I flipped it to fix it, it was ripped. Besides some updating, we enjoyed our space & the barn common space was fabulous! We enjoyed playing games by the fire. We also enjoyed Sunday Brunch -- our server LT, was lovely.

The main reception area lounge was beautiful. The room we had was almost perfect. The layout was great, the fireplace was a dream and my wife (this is Cornell speaking) went straight for that soaking bath tub. The grounds were interesting and it was nice learning about the history of the hotel. And the front desk reception staff were great - especially Renee.

This resort has been nothing but amazing. The staff has been super helpful, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable with that rustic feel, the restaurant is delicious and top notch, and the area is wonderful and has loads of stuff to do. We have nothing negative to say about the whole experience. We will be coming back in the future to stay. Truly a fantastic resort and is now one of our favorites.

Room was very clean and we enjoyed relaxing in the main room with the fireplace and a glass of wine at the end of the day. It's very cozy and welcoming. The staff was friendly and welcoming also. We will come again!

The 2 rooms were great. Very clean and spacious. The shower pressure was excellent. Three minor details. The sink hot water got very hot very quickly (scolding). The shower fills up a bit and leaks a little. Lastly, the handicapped parking where we were told to unload has a dark spot near the stone parking marker where I tripped twice (needs some ground lighting). Aside from those minor issues the room was a great value for the money. This was our second time staying there and we would go back again.

The Inn is charming but is more of a collection of houses. None of the rooms are in the main building and you can't drive to them. So be prepared to lug bags across streets, down paths, etc. The path to our room was not well lit at night. And there was no offer of help with luggage. There is a lovely great room where you can get together and have wine or play games. But it is in the reception building so it is not accessible without going outside. The onsite restaurant is not open for breakfast or lunch and there is nothing in the immediate vicinity. Food requires a car ride for sure. They don't even have brewed coffee - just pods and no ability to have tea. Pods are regular only, no decaf. Be very careful of charges to be added to the room. We were quoted a museum package for $55 and were charged $111. They didn't have us sign for it at the time so now they just say it is our word against theirs and won't refund the extra charge. (The tickets would have cost $80 without the package.) They also would not give us a folio showing the charge so I just saw it on my credit card statement. They said because it was hotels.com there couldn't give me a statement, even for the additional charges. The room itself was nice with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The room sizes were quite different with one much more deluxe than the other. It was nice to have an extra bit of room though. However, with their lack of handling of the billing issue I am certain not to return.
